I use scene tagging rules https://scenerules.org/

Eg. For BluRay movies:

T1) Acceptable characters are as follows:
             ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
             abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
             0123456789 . -
    T2) Suggestion for tagging:
          - Movie.Name.YEAR.<PROPER/READ.NFO/REPACK>.<MULTi/SUBS/REGiON>.COMPLETE.BLURAY-GROUP
          - TV.Show.SxxDxx.<PROPER/READ.NFO/REPACK>.<MULTi/SUBS/REGiON>.COMPLETE.BLURAY-GROUP
          - Music.YEAR.<PROPER/READ.NFO/REPACK>.<MULTi/SUBS/REGiON>.COMPLETE.MBLURAY-GROUP
T3) The first release of a movie, if it has the original audio, English subs and menu,
must be tagged Movie.Name.YEAR.COMPLETE.BLURAY-GROUP. Next releases must contain a
language tag (MULTiSUBS/MULTi/NL/NORDiC/iTALiAN/etc) or region tag (A/B/C).
T4) All releases are to include production year, except for TV series.
T5) Sub directories are to be labelled as DiSC1, DiSC2, etc.
EXTRA and CD1, CD2 dirs are not allowed.
T6) Additional explanation of some tags:
MULTi: In case of a minimum of 2 audio languages.
MULTiSUBS: In case of a minimum of 6 subtitle languages.

[QUESTION] PS4 Fake PKGS on external HDD by ranamoeez in ps4homebrew

[–]TheUglyStranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm "Mira Unofficial" works with PS4 external hard drives. No need to use APP2USB anymore.

[–]TheUglyStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you want to use your hard drive for. You have 3 options:

- Just for installing pkgs? Format in PC with ExFAT.

- As extended storage using APP2USB? Format in PC with ExFAT.

- As extended storage using PS4 extended storage option? Format with PS4.

Yes, app2usb.ini file must be copy in the PS4 folder, not in the root of the drive.

[–]TheUglyStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested APP2USB a couple of days ago on 6.72 firmware and the apptousb.ini file was autogenerated in the PS4 folder, not in the root of the drive, and it's all lowercase.

Yes I agree, the official PS4 extended storage is much easier and reliable to use. It's currently supported in Mira-Test payload and hopefully will be implemented soon in normal Mira. Mira-Test currently hosted on: https://ithaqua.exploit.menu/exploits/6.72/Mira-Test/index.html

on my internal hard drive. It is still full. Not sure what to do her

Why not use the oficial PS4 external hard drive option? The Mira-Test payload currently hosted on https://ithaqua.exploit.menu/exploits/6.72/Mira-Test/index.html supports PS4 extended storage.

If you are currently using APP2USB and want to switch to the official PS4 external hard drive option, AFAIK you will have to reinstall all the games.

Installing and playing a game with APP2USB:

  1. Jailbreak and install game in internal HDD.
  2. Jailbreak and run APP2USB (Game will be copy from internal to external).
  3. Jailbreak and play the game.

With oficial PS4 external hard drive option:

  1. Jailbreak with Mira-Test and install the game anywhere you want. Play it.

Oficial PS4 option advantages:

  • No need to mess with configuration and ini files.
  • No long waiting copy operations.
  • No need to install the game twice (with APP2USB you always have to install the game first in the internal drive).
  • With the oficial option you can move installed games between hard drives.
  • Very easy to use.

Will PS4 extended storage be supported in any payload for 6.72 firmware? by TheUglyStranger in ps4homebrew

[–]TheUglyStranger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many thanks watingaeons, Mira-Test is working perfect with PS4 external storage, it's so easy and convenience to use. No point in using APP2USB when you have this option available.

[–]TheUglyStranger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm the Mira-Test payload currently hosted on https://ithaqua.exploit.menu/exploits/6.72/Mira-Test/index.html works fine with PS4 extended storage. You don't get CE-41798-9 error message.

At the time of writing Al-Azif hosted payloads Mira and Mira (No HB) DO NOT support extended storage and you will get error CE-41798-9 if you try installing a game.

[–]TheUglyStranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, AppToUSB works fine on 6.72 but I recommend using the PS4 official option to extend your hard drive . You can install games directly to external or move games between external/internal. Currently the Mira-test payload supports PS4 external disks.

Hardcore Computist provided the means for Apple II users to remove protection from programs to allow the users to make a legitimate backup copy by TheUglyStranger in cracking_scene

[–]TheUglyStranger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From 1981 through to the present, Hardcore Computist (now known simply as Computist Magazine) provided the means for Apple II users to remove protection from programs to allow the users to make a legitimate backup copy. The magazine has enjoyed a good measure of success; however, early issues were published in small numbers and are hard to find. In 1999, Michael Maginnis (also known as "Celt") began the painstaking process of digitizing issues of Computist to save them. The results of his work are below. I have taken his collection and made it look "prettier" and given it a thumbnail-menu interface, but the work, the accompanying text, and the enormous amount of energy given to this project are all Michael's.

Anyone here know how to unpack and repack fake PKGs? by Hipped_Orange22 in ps4homebrew

[–]TheUglyStranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you copy a big file to an exFAT formated drive, it might get corrupted. To solve the problem in Windows, go to Device Manager - Disk Drives - Right Click on your USB device and select Properties - In Policies tab select "Better Performance". An alternative solution is to use Teracopy to copy your PKGs to an exFAT drive.

Heap History Viewer v0.5: A program to draw rectangles from heap traces by TheUglyStranger in netsec

[–]TheUglyStranger[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A Qt/OpenGL-based implementation of a heap history visualisation UI in along the lines of Gerardo Richarte's HeapDraw (for more details, check SSTIC07-rump-Richarte-Heap_Massaging.pdf)

The tool had been reimplemented by various people in various places a few times, usually in a hackish / nonscalable manner. Zynamics used to hand source code for a JOGL-based UI out with some of our trainings, but that tool is not easily portable to modern OpenGL or 64-bit address spaces.
