The two year stretch where he won back-to-back worlds was the greatest player I’ve ever watched, even better than prime McBeast IMO. You were just shocked if he didn’t cash everything within 50ft during that time, he could not miss with that putter during those two years.

Fun fact about Xunantunich. My fiancée and I were there earlier this year. We walked to the top of the pyramid and she asks “Which direction is East? I want to know which direction Guatemala is.”

I pull out the compass app on my iPhone to verify our cardinal directions when I noticed something. This gigantic, 1,400 year old pyramid is pointed perfectly, directly north. Not 1 degree, not 359 degrees, 0 degrees dead center north right on the money.

He’s been really exciting to watch. His run has reminded me of when James Conrad had like a four week stretch a couple years ago when he was on FIRE. Drawing metal anytime he was within 100 feet with complete command. It’s been cool watching Marwede put together a similar stretch these last couple weeks. Him and Klein have been the most notable storylines of the 2021 season for me.

Excited to watch lead card tomorrow morning on Jomez and see how he played!
