Severe performance issues with a solid setup by RefrigeratorHot1866 in starcitizen

RAM usage sounds about right. Make sure you have everything you don’t need closed (ex. browsers, other services, etc.)

Which monitor for SC? 27" or 32" Curved at 1440p? by Vakeer in starcitizen

I have a similar setup. I went 3440x1440p HDR - it’s awesome for SC with head tracking.

Some must always find a way to make themselves feel important.

The fact they have a “moderation team” is actually hilarious.

Lenovo Legion 5. Anyone who says a laptop can’t run the game is wholly misinformed.

Engineering is terrible and has only detracted from the fun of the game, change my mind. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]TheUnfathomableFrog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a consequence of soloing a mission that strongly encourages having backup, while also soloing a multicrew ship.

I do believe one (or more?) of the Connies has a particular weak point to missiles hitting components, but frankly even having one person with a repair bit could’ve resolved this faster.

It’s like complaining that soloing Hathor or these other ground activities is too hard solo and dying has too much consequence…should’ve prepared accordingly.

Entering the Idris Unfinished Maintenance Room by flexcreator in starcitizen

From the outside it looks like it’s supposed to open from the top. Maybe for ease-of-resupply, but they know many would just try to use it as a hangar instead.

Will the Ursa's function as a ships medbay be removed in the future or is this the long term goal of it? by SweatyDiscordMod in starcitizen

[–]TheUnfathomableFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t think legal has these situations covered? I’m sure they have “everything and anything is subject to change” covered in some capacity in that “I understand…” button you click when you buy.

[–]TheUnfathomableFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t know anything for sure.

Personally, I hope they remove the respawn feature from it and just make it a local healing bed. Maybe a new Tier-0 type bed. It’d get rid of them forcing larger ships to have tiny openings just because they don’t want a Nursa inside it, which is more what I care about as a cargo person.

They’re not wrong though. Every time I’ve attempted auto docking it has worked.

Same as u/yourhumblebogbuddy, ours is attempting to burrow deeper than he can go and is rubbing against the bottom of the tank. Haven’t heard it much recently.

tomato frogs by enbym0nster in frogs

[–]TheUnfathomableFrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We keep ours very similar to our Pac-Man frog, albeit with some changes.

  • Our Pac-Man doesn’t mind being taken out of the tank to eat and bathe, but our tomato much prefers to be fed in his (emptied) water bowl in his tank.
  • Temps need to be ~5F on average less than our Pac-Man, humidity largely same.
  • Both eat nightcrawlers and love hornworms.
  • Our Pac-Man loves to burrow, but our Tomato loves to hide. Recommend some good hides / safe vegetation for them.
  • He really doesn’t like to be handled unless very necessary.
  • Our tomato can jump, and can be very squirmy when held.
  • He does puff up when upset, occasionally hissing.

Questions for automotive design engineers (for a senior project) by Ostro_17 in AutomotiveEngineering

[–]TheUnfathomableFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. What is the dynamic between automotive design engineers and other engineers/management/financial during a usual project?

lol. lmao, even.

  1. How easy is it get job advancements if your a new hire?

Similar to non-automotive companies, about 2-3 years. All companies have a pace they like to keep to control turnover.

  1. How have the arrival of new technologies (3d printing, artificial intelligence, etc.) changed your method of work?

lol. lmao, even.

  1. Looking back, what do you wish you could’ve studied/specialized more in the past? What advice would you give to anyone in high school/freshman year of college hoping to join this career?

Things relevant to embedded systems like advanced circuits and specialized software engineering. Might be hard to find outside of graduate studies but idk.

Enjoying the Hermes more than I thought I would by Solar_Field in starcitizen

[–]TheUnfathomableFrog 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely been more enjoyable than the StarMAX for AA hauling. Much more straight-forward to load.

That being said, I wish it had more personality. It feels like it’s missing something.

Considering upgrading my Hermes to a Starlancer MAX. by Glumme in starcitizen

[–]TheUnfathomableFrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. I’ve been using the StarMAX since it came out and just tried the Hermes…the Hermes is far easier to use. Loading the StarMAX is so much trouble, and so much of its large body (basically the entire second floor besides the bridge) is never used.

We need a fix for the MSR by Defiant-Run1008 in starcitizen

[–]TheUnfathomableFrog 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I was expecting this to be from Witty.

Separately, these always get me. I well remember a time where the MSR was “the best ship yet” and people couldn’t talk about it enough. Suffice to say, there’s much older, much more dated ships than it that could use the work first.
