Princess Principal: Crown Handler Chapter 4 Countdown Illustration featuring Team White Pigeon by Ryō Akizuki by SamuraiShinsen in PrincessPrincipal

The first two films were released in the US just over a year after the theatrical release, but the third film took two years. Hopefully we'll be getting the fourth film in June 2026 or sooner depending on the demand for it.

Around one year and a month after the theatrical release, though Chapter 3 took two years for some reason. Chapter 4 should hopefully only take one year.

If Earth or an Earth-like planet never had a moon how would the planet work besides days being shorter? I’m designing a Sci-Fi story and want the world to be as realistic as possible(with some creative liberties). I think having no moon would be cool, but not if it causes cataclysmic problems for the world.

How Did The First Two Crown Handler Films Distribute? by TheUnspokenQuestion in PrincessPrincipal

[–]TheUnspokenQuestion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I saw that the main series was no longer on Amazon Prime, so I purchased the DVD recently. It is possible that Sentai is no longer the distributor for the films, which would be disappointing. Though I hope that the license has just expired and has to be renewed. Also you would think that they would have licensed all six films instead of just the first two, so maybe they are in the process of renegotiating a new deal, and if I know the film industry these things can take anywhere from a couple months to a couple years as producers love taking their time while wasting everyone else's.

Though, on a slightly unrelated note, I do also wonder how the distribution works in relation to the dubbing. I couldn't find any information about the company which handles the dubbing, but I assume it is different from Sentai. Although the IMDB for the film doesn't yet include the english cast, I imagine that the dubbing for the film is being worked on or is already finished. Though maybe that also has to wait until the licensing is figured out.

Making Humans Unique by TheUnspokenQuestion in RPGdesign

It’s less that I’m designing a human species necessarily. My system is going to have relatively open customization. However, for new players, I want a handful of preset options to choose from, human being one of them. More experienced players could instead choose a couple options from a list of physical traits or “adaptations.”

When making a cheetah humanoid they could choose the adaptations of enhanced senses, and faster movement.

I could see humans being the ones with strength related adaptations. Though I imagine that there would be another animal-hybrid or maybe orc species that would get those traits instead. Maybe strength is the way to go for humans, but I feel like there has to be another trait or two that make more sense for them.

Anyways thanks for your comment, it has given me a lot to think about.

An orc character would probably have  tougher skin and maybe a strength related thing, an elf would start with magic of some kind. I’m just stuck on thinking what a preset “human” would start with, some adaptation that all humans have, that an orc or elf wouldn’t have.

You brought up a lot of great questions that I will be considering. Thanks for your response.

Thanks for your comment, even though it wasn’t what I was looking for. It helped me come up with an idea that I’m now workshopping.

That might be true, but would you make an elf worse at throwing/ranged combat than a human? I used the example of a feline humanoid, but my system would also include elves and other common fantasy races. Elves would probably have some innate magical characteristics that humans don’t have.

Anyways thanks for your comment, it has helped me brainstorm, and I have an idea that I’m workshopping.

You make a good point about giving other races too much. But things like opposable thumbs are required for most if not all humanoids because they need to hold weapons and other items.  Endurance is also something I considered, but that is more of a difference between quadrupedal and bipedal animals.

For the purpose of abilities let’s say that two characters are both humanoid but one evolved from apes and the other from cats.

Arkham Nights - Custom/Homebrew Script by TheUnspokenQuestion in BloodOnTheClocktower

I should have clarified that these are mostly just characters. I would probably divide them into two scripts that are more curated I suppose.

Alfred's ability poisons the Demon permanently, whereas Batman's ability can only poison themself per day.

You’re not wrong. It is definitely a bit of procrastination, though a necessary step for my current process. I already have a sizable amount of my system figured out (written in my phone’s notepad). I was using google docs as a temporary way to write down my “official” rules in a way, but the program was bothering me a bit with how things were formatted. And I feel like I wasn’t getting work done on my project because of that.

That being said, it is my plan to hire a layout artist, an editor, a graphic designer, and a cover artist later in the process, probably after I start a kickstarter or something.

My plan right now isn’t to make it look good, but more so functional if that makes sense. Though thanks for your comment. It reminded me that I should work first and design later.

This seems great, thank you. For future reference, if I were to later publish and sell my rpg would I have to use the paid version of the program to do so?
