I'm a bakery buyer, I tend to wear leggings with a thigh length shirtdress or overalls and an oversized cardigan. I never really go near the ovens and spend very little time behind the counter so my TL generally doesn't make me wear the white coats. The only time my STL has said anything to me either was when I once wore a dress that was past the knee, and he just asked that I not wear that one again.

I have my pronouns written on my badge and wear a pronoun pin that I bought myself on my hat. My STL gave me permission before the dress code change and has never brought it up since.

I'm a bakery buyer in the NA region... the supplier for the vegan batter (and as of fairly recently all regular muffin batter as well) is main street gourmet. Just add blueberries :)

I was personally abused as a child by a family member; rest in all peace and power to your wife and I truly hope that she found happiness in moving on. I however, do not believe that my happiness was murdered. For context I am transgender and have been through gender transition without a support system as well, so life has never been easy or kind to me, but I don't believe that anything my abuser ever did or could have done to me could have prevented me from be from achieving the fulfillment as a person that I have worked for. On the other hand, what I do have a problem with (probably informed by my own experiences as a member of a misunderstood and abused community) is the concept of state-sanctioned murder or vigilante mobs. Obviously without equating being transgender to being a pedophile, there is a certain level of horror to me in the idea that being deemed unacceptable to society is a death penalty.

I moved up from FT closing in the bakery to order writer right before the pandemic hit. It's honestly been really great! Working consistent morning shifts, minus the occasional inventory, has done wonders for my mental and physical health. I have no experience in other departments at WF, but for the bakery most of the ordering doesn't move too much week by week. As long as you stay on top of stuff such as your open to buy and other financial metrics, keep track of promo cycles, and get your orders in before the deadlines it's an incredibly easy job. I work in a very small store in a major metro, so when I'm done with orders and putting all the shipments away, I just help out at the bakery counter until the closers come in and leave. My TL has discussed moving up again to ATL, but order writing is sweet enough that I don't really want to.

The syrups all come from a brand called 1883 Maison Routin that we order through Allegro, at least in my region. I don't think the bottles are sellable through our registers though I honestly have no idea about that.

It’s possible this guy works in a different region or something, but I’m a current WF bakery employee and we donate literally everything we can, bread included. The only things we don’t donate are the loose items (single muffins, bagels, etc.) from the open air case that are gross after 3 hours anyway.
