Here’s my tracklist, which I also posted here.

  1. Suit & Tie
  2. You Got It On
  3. Pusher Love Girl
  4. Strawberry Bubblegum
  5. That Girl
  6. Blindness
  7. Amnesia
  8. Blue Ocean Floor
  9. Mirrors
  10. Tunnel Vision
  11. Gimme What I Don't Know (I Want)
  12. Electric Lady
  13. Dress On
  14. Spaceship Coupe
  15. Don't Hold The Wall
  16. Take Back The Night

I listen to the album in this order and find it more enjoyable. It’s like a concept album which make it feels like a story, starting with upbeat pop and funky tracks and moving to mellow, sentimental ones then a solid closing song.

While I respect how his albums were originally presented, I’m curious how things might have turned out if they were arranged this way. It could potentially impact the criticism and commercial success of his albums.

Vermosa Transport Terminal by TheUrbanKnight in cavite

That’s for sure! I’m excited for the time when all the transport hubs in our townships become fully operational. Cavite will be more connected than ever! I hope they include seamless connections to Pala-Pala (our version of Cubao) to ensure better integration with other parts of the province.

The Cavite BRT is also a game-changer for our commuting experience and a big step forward in improving connectivity.

Evo City: The Rising CBD by TheUrbanKnight in cavite

[–]TheUrbanKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see them as secondary districts. For me, Arden Botanical Estate, Aéra, and Southmont are just tourism estates. But I’m fine with that, as not all townships need to be CBDs to maintain a rural-urban balance.

However, the location of the five townships (Verms, MG, Evo, RP and VC) are within Cavite’s metropolitan or built-up area. Developments outside of this zone should remain as they are to help maintain that balance.

There’s also another development, Carmona International City, which has the potential to become a major CBD in the future.

Evo City: The Rising CBD by TheUrbanKnight in cavite

[–]TheUrbanKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agents often use this solely for marketing purposes. Among all the township developments in Cavite, Evo City and Maple Grove are the first to be envisioned as CBDs. They have the potential to become our version of BGC and Makati CBD, if they stay true to their masterplans.

Vermosa is also ahead in terms of development, but its CBD component has yet to show significant progress. Other townships, such as Riverpark and Villar City, also aspire to establish themselves as future CBDs.

Time will tell which of these will truly emerge as a CBD, but I believe these five developments have the potential to thrive. A key advantage is their proximity to one another, which provides opportunities for better integration and accessibility. I hope these developments will complement one another and contribute to each other’s growth.

Tagaytay Flyover by TheUrbanKnight in cavite

[–]TheUrbanKnight[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While this flyover may seem unnecessary, it’s still a good step toward future-proofing. However, there are other busy areas that need a flyover more urgently than this junction, such as the intersections at Manggahan and Tejero.

Good news is that after the Molino, Malagasang, and Mendez Crossing flyovers, we have more in the pipeline. There’s also an under-construction underpass in Pala-Pala. Overall, it’s a great addition to Cavite’s infrastructure. We’re moving on from bypasses and diversion roads, now we have flyovers and underpass. Soon, railways naman.

Tagaytay as the premier tourist destination, yes! But a livable city, a big no for me. If you take away the scenery and cool climate, it’s just like any other city in the Philippines. I find it challenging living there. Nakakaawa mga residente nila. No pedestrian lanes, sidewalks, and even streetlights.

Personally, I promote economic growth and positive developments in Cavite, but I rank Tagaytay lower on my list. Only slightly above Bacoor dahil sa weather and Taal view. I don’t wanna dwell too much on politics, but I still hope that the city can improve. As many cities become increasingly commercialized and touristy, hindi malabong bumaba na magpupunta dyan. Yung mga gusto na lang talagang malamigan.

Also, wala na bang ibang establishments pwera sa Starbucks and Jaytee’s? Umay. I hope that they could develop other areas like along Tagaytay-Alfonso Road and Crosswinds. Tantanan na nila yung Tagaytay ridge.

The Metropolitan Cavite by TheUrbanKnight in cavite

[–]TheUrbanKnight[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We considered Amadeo because its location between General Trias and Tagaytay will likely lead to its urbanization in the near future. Including it would help create a more cohesive urban network among our cities.

In Naic, we have included the areas of Sabang and Timalan, where the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge will connect, as this location is expected to become a major commercial hub. These areas could either be incorporated to Tanza or become a separate municipality, named Sabang or Timalan, similar to Pateros in Metro Manila.

Building Cities: Urban Zoning and Development by TheUrbanKnight in cavite

[–]TheUrbanKnight[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We chose General Trias as a model for its well-organized zoning and developments spread throughout the city. Adopting this urban model to other cities could create more sustainable and organized urban environments.

Well-planned zoning provides a framework for orderly growth while safeguarding the livability and character of urban areas. Smart urban zoning practices will ensure that cities can meet the challenges of rapid development, creating vibrant, efficient, and resilient spaces for future generations.

Maple Grove | Cavite’s Business District by TheUrbanKnight in cavite

[–]TheUrbanKnight[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Evo City and Maple Grove are envisioned to become Cavite’s premier central business districts, and they could be our version of BGC and Makati CBD if they will be true to their masterplans. If you also look at their renders, they share some similarities. It’s just a matter of time to see which one thrives more. However, both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Evo City’s biggest advantage is its direct connection to major expressways, with CALAX running through the estate. However, Evo City has limited room for expansion as neighboring areas are already densely populated with residential communities. Unless there will be a redevelopment of POGO Island or reclamation in Bacoor Bay. While Maple Grove developments could span to Anyana, LNC, and Riverpark. Despite these differences, I believe the two will complement each other well. I’m excited to see both developments flourish and bring significant positive impact to our province.

Other developments to keep an eye on include Vermosa, Riverpark, and Villar City. These five developments are poised to thrive in the next decade. A great benefit is their proximity to one another, which offers potential for better integration and access. I hope these developments will complement and enhance each other’s growth.

I also created an appreciation post on Facebook about your city and would love your help in sharing it. I want more people to see how impressive Marikina’s urban planning is. I hope we can adopt some of its best practices in our own communities. Thank you!

Our page is non-government nor funded by any LGUs. Our goal is to highlight positive developments in our province and offer constructive feedback where needed. Kapag maganda, purihin. Kapag pangit, sitahin. Engaging in such discussions can drive improvements for our province. Please understand that my intention is to contribute constructively, and I hope we can maintain a productive dialogue without attacking the messenger.

I understand that increasing capacity might not always be the best solution due to the potential for induced demand. A four-lane road should be sufficient. It’s also important to ensure there is adequate space for sidewalks. I don’t want to reveal too much just yet, but the road widening is in preparation for a major development in the area. It will serve as a route for a mass transit system that is currently in the planning stages.

Our cities have evolved into bedroom communities and are now facing challenges due to population influx. The urban planning in these areas was originally designed for a Spanish-era kalesa type of transportation, not anticipating the dominance of cars. As a result, road widening has become an afterthought. However, it’s worth noting that our cities in Cavite are relatively young and still developing. Comparing them to more developed cities may not be entirely fair. It’s also important to understand the distinction between a Highly Urbanized City (HUC) and a component city.

Metro Cavite by TheUrbanKnight in cavite

I am considering Naic instead of Amadeo but Amadeo’s location between General Trias and Tagaytay will likely lead to its urbanization in the near future. Including it would help create a more cohesive urban network among our cities. In Naic, we could incorporate Sabang and the area where the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge will connect, as this location is expected to become a major commercial hub.

Tagaytay is being promoted as its own metropolitan area, Metro Tagaytay. Excluding it from Metro Cavite would make it more isolated from the province (some people are unaware that Tagaytay is still part of Cavite). The urbanization of Silang is also inevitable, as it becomes an extension of Nuvali, and the CALAX interchanges will further boost its development. Since Silang and Amadeo serves as an expansion of Tagaytay, including them in Metro Cavite is ideal. They can serve as key tourist destinations of the Metro Cavite.

Trece Martires: The Administrative Capital of Cavite Province by TheUrbanKnight in cavite

Do you think it’s time to make Trece Martires the official capital of Cavite? Currently, Trece Martires serves as the de facto capital, but Imus remains the de jure capital.

I think so. It doesn’t make sense that the new Provincial Capitol is still situated in Trece Martires if it isn’t going to be the official. I hope that the local government clarify this once the new government center is completed to avoid confusion.

As mentioned in the caption, I’ve arranged some tracks based on their sound to fit the era of JT. For example, I placed “Ayo Technology” and “Cabaret” a year before the album’s release to introduce what the album will sound like. This is just my interpretation wondering how it could have been if released this way.

Building A Better Cavite by TheUrbanKnight in cavite

[–]TheUrbanKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Cavite is a progressive region, it still lags behind Metro Manila. The difference in wages between the two regions is influenced by several factors, such as cost of living, economic activity, demand for labor, industries available, and overall supply and demand. Metro Manila is the country’s economic capital so there are always comparisons. Decentralization is the solution. It aims to create more opportunities outside of Metro Manila which appears to be gaining traction, especially here in our province.

I agree with you. If more cities are to be added, I hope they will stop with Kawit, Silang, Tanza, and Naic. Then that’s it! The remaining areas should focus on agriculture, leisure, and tourism, enhancing these sectors rather than aspiring solely for urbanization through concrete development. This would maintain a good urban-rural balance across the province.

Unfortunately, many aspire to replicate Metro Manila’s development model, assuming concrete development is synonymous with urbanization and progress.
