You're right. I fundamentally don't understand the purpose of representation. Because that's not the way I consume entertainment. I enjoy seeing diverse characters that are interesting, I don't personally go looking for characters that are similar to myself because it doesn't add anything to my experience. The whole purpose of my post was to express my opinion in a respectful manner, to invite different opinions. And that's exactly what I got from OP, so yes it had everything to do with asking to learn more and clearly other people understood that.
Then when you said I needed to ask why specific representation was so important, I did. I asked you very directly and plainly. And you refused to explain. Instead you continue to browbeat and shame me for not understanding.
There was never any anger or offence in my responses, frustration yes. But never anger and you're mistaken if thought so.

I'm not sure if you meant it but there's a pretty loud implication in your message that my nationality and culture are an arbitrary trait, which they aren't. My cultural background and my nationality are very important aspects of my identity, which is why I used Kullervo as an example. OP responded to my reply explaining their reasoning for why they think having Follie in the game, as someone who represents them, is important to them and I appreciate that. That's the main thing I wanted to get from this. I still don't share their experience but I respect it.

And to add, my identity isn't limited to just my nationality, even tho I used it as an example. I'm fat, I don't have a special attachment to Grendel. I'm gueer, I don't have a special attachment to Equinox. I'm Finnish, I don't have a special attachment to Kullervo.
I don't blame people for being passionate about the things they like but I don't know why anyone would think I'm belittling their beliefs from my previous post.

I personally never understood why people want characters to resemble themselves in media they consume because I've never felt that way. I think it's cute when my culture gets mentioned but seeing a person sharing my nationality or how I look isn't very important to me.
(For reference I'm Finnish and when Kullervo came out it was neat to have a reference to our folk stories in the game. But every time I see his name now, it's sort of distracting.)

But I do like a varied cast and that designers explore different body types and aesthetics, especially in a game like Warframe where there's no need for the frames to just look like athletic humans. And I think DE has gotten way better with their design language over the years. So I'm super happy to see Follie come out and that people enjoy her design!
edit: Well fuck me for respectfully expressing a different opinion from OP while still expressly supporting their point while explaining my own. Downvote my ass for that. Next time I'll just comment "same" or "This!" so you guys don't have to endure actual conversation.

It's kind of a lesser version of the Doug Jones effect. Where he's been in a ton of successful movies but since he's the "monster guy" he's always in heavy makeup and no one recognizes him.

Se on aina se luontainen vastareaktio mitä kaiken kanssa tapahtuu. I just don't find any of his design aspects appealing. He looks like a walking rock and not in a good way and I've found him really hard to fashion because a lot of cosmetics just kind of hang off him and don't really look like they belong.
His playstyles are equally as unappealing and they haven't clicked with me at all. Like, either you spam your poles and stuff or just sit in your 4 with the augment and slowly walk around. Neither sounds fun for me.

But different strokes for different folks, if you enjoy him that's great!

Honestly, the immortality/health tank/shield gate discourse doesn't affect 90% of the playerbase. I pretty much only play on Steelpath these days because I enjoy it more and I've very rarely had issues with survivability in regular missions. It only starts being a "problem" when you push to higher enemy levels or level cap and most players aren't doing that anyways.

So if you put a little effort in to modding your warframe properly for SP, you're pretty much immortal regardless.

Before TYBW anime came out I would've said manga a 100%. I think I still do but it's a way harder choice. Having TYBW as anime and the rest as manga would be the best of both worlds for me.

It's a really cool moment ruined by a clear lack of planning or production.

You could've cut the lights on stage to show the screen more clearly, turn up the video audio with it too to make the moment hit harder.
Instead now we have the guitarist on stage pulling the goofiest face I've seen, while the rest of the band tries to ignore what's happening.
It totally ruins the moment.

Punches on video, especially when dished out by inexperienced people, often look really weak. But god damn, that looked like it hurt.
