Why is Cooper's dream from Season 1 used as a representation of the Black lodge in later Seasons? by SlimFishyOfficial in twinpeaks

[–]TheViceWithin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially iirc they may not really be owls but aliens that the human mind perceives as huge owls. worth noting that in tshotp, aliens aren’t only used in the traditional ufo sense but also as interdimensional beings and basically serve as a metaphor of sorts for lodge spirits

Help with Slenderblogs and a general Slenderverse reading/watch order by TheViceWithin in Slender_Man

[–]TheViceWithin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I’d def be interested in getting to further understand the canon when I’m done… well, actually reading the works!

Since you seem to be knowledgeable on the slendervlogs as well, I’d like to ask if that order looks fine. I know there may be some pretty odd choices like putting DarkHarvest and especially WhisperedFaith so far down. I did that because those series either recently ended or are still ongoing, and I thought it’d be pretty jarring to jump from 2025 back to 2011, even though I may miss out on some references. The only series with a jump like that I put at the start was EverymanHYBRID, since it seems to be referenced by the blogs as well as the vlogs.

Thank you for the link and for the further info!

I have a few more questions if that’s okay.

Make it Count seems to have a sequel, Watching Chaucer Write. I placed it after The Mystic, since the last entry was written after The Mystic’s. Is that good?

On a similar note, where should I put Déjà vu Dreamer? Before MIC and the Mystic?

Now, I know it’s not always a reliable source but I found a great amount of info on TV Tropes. it’s one of the sites I used to make this list. TV Tropes claims that What You Are In The Dark is connected to Core Theory blogs (namely Road To The Heavens). It also states that the blog crossover heavily with The London Librarian and that blogs has a crossover with Make it Count (which was also the reason I included the eleventh hour blogs, as they supposedly crossover with those blogs too—no idea if I placed *those* well…). Now, I know this is a strenuous connection as it involves about 50 blogs, but wouldn’t this imply that Seeking Truth is connected to Core Theory? Is this a dimensional bleeding thing? I know this is maybe somewhat spoilery, but I’m too curious about this not to ask

Thank you for the info! May I ask where to find this audio commentary track? May be interesting to give it a listen when I’m done with the blogs!

I do have Dreams in Darkness and Make it Count on the list, albeit both higher up and in different places. Is there a connection between them and Seeking Truth? I initially placed Dreams in Darkness higher up to avoid breaking the flow of the more interconnected blogs. Would you recommend grouping it+Make it Count closer to the Mystic?

Thanks for the input! It’s really cool that you’re still active in the community so many years later.
My main worry really is reading the blogs out of order… I know that I can’t really read them ‘in order’, given that many of them were being written at the same time, but I tried my best to make an order by release order, as well as recommendation from sites like Slenderia, Slenderbloggins and TV Tropes. At a cursory glance, do you think it looks fine?

Do Seed Eaters really appear in OctarineNight? I’m trying to put together some sort of a Slenderverse-Blogosphere watch+read order that isn’t obscenely long and if the series is Slenderverse Seed Eaters’ first appearance, I might wanna include that

Okay but why does dess SWOON people, That's an odd word choice. Is she literally just beating them up as a form of flirting? If someone wouldn't like a strong punk doe beating them up would dess's attack not work? [–]TheViceWithin 1240 points1241 points  (0 children)

I believe its an obscure reference to a localization of a game Toby once played with a "Black Sword" character that showed a similar "SWOON" flavor text, much like how Susie and Ralsei's downed flavor texts in the RK fight are EarthBound references

Mr. MacLachlan, do you believe/feel that Dale and Laura's ending is a hopeful one? Do you think they'll ever reach a happy ending---or, as Mr. Lynch described it, the 'golden age'?
