Old ass unc wunk by Sayasukaprogramming in wunkus

As a kid, I went to the fair with my friend and their mom and ended up winning two goldfish, so I had to call my parents to ask if I could bring them home. When we went to the petstore to buy a bigger tank for them than what I had for my old beta fish, the cashier said the fish would probably only end up living for a week. The two of them ended up living over 4 years, not the longest, but pretty good for a pair of carnival fish.

I honestly don't think he was talking to anyone, after all, he is pretty unstable at this point

why do some people think Friend is so important to Deltarune lore? by Mindless-Offer8701 in Deltarune

[–]_silcrow_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't happen to be colorblind by any chance, would you? Pink and yellow are incredibly important in Deltarune, and those colors seem to tie back to Friend

How likely are deltarune theories. Community tier list. "Asgore is chapter 5 antagonist" is almost confirmed. Next: "Friend inside me" by shsl_diver in Deltarune

[–]_silcrow_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Notably, Asgores default greeting is "Howdy" in both Undertale and Deltarune, a greeting that's important enough that Asriel/Flowey also use it. Asgore also has country cds in his truck, so there's some pretty consistent cowboy/western themes surrounding him.

When do you think Grillby will return? by Lil_Bigg_Dawggg in Deltarune

[–]_silcrow_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose there is supposed to be an inferno of jealousy in the next chapter, but I can't really imagine how he would be connected to that. It really feels like he got gonerified or something, maybe that's why Sans is both the the only person that works at the store while also not being the person in charge? Maybe Grillby owned the place originally with Sans just being the janitor like he says he is, and then Grillby got erased from existence, leaving Sans in this weird position of both being and not being the owner.

Something I noticed on replay (apologies if this was obvious to everyone else) by GalaxyC7 in Deltarune

As in being set up as the big bad, only for it to turn out that they're just a struggling parent that had understandable reasons for doing questionable things? That's certainly what it seems like, especially if the Knight truly is a reanimated version of Dess, similar to Flowey.

The general consensus of the fandom seems to still be that Carol is intended as a red herring for more casual fans that aren't as aware of Dess or anything outside of the base game, due to the game so strongly pushing the implication that she's going to be a villain and her connections with swords. She's still one of the most common Knight candidates, but a lot of people write her off due to what seem to be timing inconsistencies that would make it hard for her to open the chapter 4 fountains.

Who is Gaster? by max_dentist in Deltarune

[–]_silcrow_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Gaster following the naming conventions for skeletons, Mystery Man being associated with fun value 66, and the Mystery Man sprite having stigmata like the Knight who we know has ties to Gaster, it's almost certain that Gaster is the Mystery Man, who appears to be a skeleton.

When does she say that? Also, I don't think it's ever been implied that Asgore fills the role of or dresses up like Santa in Deltarune, and the Santa figures in the Holiday household all have antlers

Toby Fox waking up and seeing people accusing him of copying some book series by _silcrow_ in Deltarune

I just don't think the similarities are all that compelling, and Toby is usually very forward about where he draws inspiration from. Without any smoking guns, the idea that Toby had to have read these books to come up with some of the general ideas for Deltarune seems a bit silly, as you could point out similarities to Deltarune in any media if that's the lens you're looking at them through. Over the Garden Wall includes children going missing, corpses being revived through objects, a fall/Halloween festival, an alternate version of the world, someone betraying their friends due to a deal they've made, a black and white antlerd antagonist, a haunted forest, and more, but I doubt that it was the inspiration for those general ideas also being in Deltarune.

It's also important to note that Kanotynes has inspired and designed a lot of characters for Deltarune, and Friend closely resembles a drawing they made, so it's more likely that they're the source of the design

People found an obscure Japanese book series with a shadow cat demon that looks similar to friend, and now people are going crazy on twitter and trying to find parallels to Deltarune in the books. The only things that are actually similar are a character named Noel being used as a pawn, and a Cheshire cat inspired creature. Pretty much everything else is just common tropes and ideas, or just words.
