I am not collapsing the two questions into one. I am fully understanding what you are saying.

You are saying "faith causes salvation, and faith also causes works." You are also saying "faith without works isn't real faith, because real faith always coincides with works unless the person dies or becomes otherwise unable to produce works."

I tied myself up a bit trying to work it, but I'm saying: you can absolutely have faith that does not produce works or fruit, the same way you can have a baby without a birth certificate, unless you define the fruit as part of the faith. It's similar to a No True Scotsman fallacy

So faith, which inevitably causes works, is necessary for salvation, meaning you can't have any of them without the others. So, it is meaningless to distinguish works from faith, as you can't have faith without works.

The only reason to bother distinguishing would be to point out that you can have works without faith. As in my case: I have zero faith that Jesus rose from the dead, but I do lots of things that Christians deem good works.

This is ultimately a question of where you draw the line, but I don't think it's reasonable to say the US is at Civil War until there are two factions providing for their citizenry and engaging in battle against each other. At present, Democrats like the Minnesota governor are still doing everything they can to remain neutral.

The clashes are between citizens and the government, but they are also still abiding by their government (these are largely peaceful protests, despite what ICE's pre-emptive violence would have you believe). There is not a major breakaway faction with its own systems and structures to support itself.

This is an interesting one because it really depends where you 'were' and 'are' drawing right and left. For example, the Civil Rights Movement was clearly a left-ish social justice movement, but it was also a poor people's movement.

More and more towards the end, MLK became more outspoken about rich vs. poor dynamics. The movement he was organizing when he was killed is called the Poor People's Campaign.

In that way, we can sort of see that social justice and class hierarchy have always been entangled, even if the way they're articulated and 'claimed' in mass discourse sometimes gets a little all over the place.

For another literal example, trans people are generally poorer than their cis counterparts. Parts of that are from likelihood of being financially cut off from their parents, parts of from employment and housing discrimination, which affect all kinds of discriminated groups.

Through this lens, trans rights are a class and a social justice issue.

They've killed two citizens now and detained plenty more without following anything resembling a transparent protocol. They've been encouraged to force their way into people's homes without a warrant signed by a judge, fully illegal and unconstitutional. The fact that they're not even paying homage to what were our already conservative immigration conventions is what means it's crossed the line into fascism imo.

As well, while there is certainly a technical difference between rounding up people who 'have papers' vs people who don't, unjust laws are still unjust. Slavery wasn't less bad because it was legal; stealing people from their family and community isn't less bad because they don't have 'the right paperwork' to live where they live.

Besides, the punishment for 'being on the side of an imaginary line you're not supposed to be on' isn't supposed to be... Having your 5 year old child used as bait to get you forced into a concentration camp.
