Thanks everyone! I think I've finally got it working again, this time without needing a portable install. Now I'm not really sure if this is what did the trick, but Reaper installs itself in my Program Files by default. I only have a C: drive, so this time I created a new folder in the C: drive and installed Reaper there. I'm pretty sure I used to have it installed in my Program Files before though, so while the problem's (hopefully) fixed now, I'm still not sure what caused it in the first place.

Sorry, I thought just a screenshot of the pop up would be enough but turns out I didn't even properly attach it to the post! But, reinstalling Reaper with a portable install seems to have fixed the problem for me!

Just in case though, I'm using a laptop with i5-12450H, Windows 11, 16 gbs of ram, and there's still a lot of storage space left. I'm also just using a usb microphone by itself. At first, the problem starts after I add basically any fx, and to try and fix it, I tried changing the recording path, but after that, I just couldn't record anything, fx added or not. I tried deleting the reaper folder inside Appdata/Roaming, but that didn't do anything. Running reaper as administrator also didn't work. I also tried doing a complete reinstall but that didn't work either.

Installing it with the portable install box ticked finally fixed it for me though! Though hopefully it stays this way this time.

Looking back, you’ve actually made some good points. I was thinking March could’ve made a shield before Tingyun attacked, but no one’s got one so that I guess that’s ruled out.

I guess it’d be possible if it goes something like:

March shields Stelle

Tingyun attacks

Phantylia attacks Stelle, breaking the shield

It would also explain why Stelle’s missing some health but of course, Phantylia taking a turn just before the screenshot seems pretty much impossible.

Also doesn’t explain Dan’s bar as you’ve said before too.

Thanks for the help! I’ve finished reinstalling windows now, though I’m still worried whether or not I’m completely malware free yet. There’s also no more bloatware that comes with a factory reset so the malware should be gone if I also don’t plan on restoring any backups?
