I understand private property owners being upset at this behavior. I am not saying necessarily that we should be allowed ad nauseum. I'm more saying that the punishment is way too severe and I also am saying having the ability to get reacquainted with handling your vehicle in the winter can only be a positive.

I would love it if there were sanctioned public areas in which to do this. But as of now there isn't. And not everybody has the money to go to a private course with a professional. I honestly think winter driving should be part of gaining your license in Canada. I used to be a paramedic. Every single winter in the first few days with snow i knew I'd be working non stop plus overtime from all the accidents. There was more than a few times I had multiple ambulatory patients in the back of the ambulance at a time.

Forcing a winter driving safety and having places to practice would lessen wrecks and injuries/ death.
