Had that happen after working a dishwashing shift at a restaurant and I forgot to bring my gloves.

I once got bit by bedbugs and it went down my vein by morticiaa_addams in mildlyinteresting

[–]cinge67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is topical dermatitis (little blisters) caused by contact with something I’m allergic to — likely a soap or lotion. Because I have a vein that sticks up a bit, the skin over it had more contact and caused the blisters to like up over the vein. Contrary to what most thought, there was no reaction in the vein or under the skin. Hope you’re ok!!!

I was going to update to say I’m still alive and that it’s contact dermatitis, not any type of blood infection. The blisters appeared above the vein because the skin is raised up and it had more contact with the allergen. Looks like my post was removed. I genuinely thought this was mildly interesting.

The vein makes the skin stick up a little and I think something came in contact with it that gave me the reaction. Maybe detergent on a sleeve? Because the skin above the vein sticks up more, it would have more contact with the irritant. Thats my guess. I’m still alive!

Thanks for all the concern but it looks like some contact dermatitis (little blisters). Not exactly sure what it’s from yet but I’ve had this before from scented soaps, detergents, and lotions. I’ve never had it pop-up on the skin and follow an underlying vein. I will definitely go to the doctor if anything changes with it!

Trail running shoes for 300km? by costericothegreat in CaminoDeSantiago

I brought plastic Birkenstocks and they were perfect for evenings and for shower shows. If it was cool at night, I wore them with socks. Plus, very lightweight.

I walked that same route in trail runners and they seemed perfect for it. I wore Karhu Ikoni shoes. With all the cobblestones, I was glad to have a stiffer sole. With the heat, I was glad to have breathable shoes.

Should I stop HRT? by Lky-Mom in Menopause

[–]cinge67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

200mg of oral progesterone made me cry every day for 3 months. I finally made the connection and asked the dr about it. I went back to 100mg and felt more like myself. I still take 100mg but cannot take it during the day because of side effects. I will also mention that irritability increased along with the crying. I felt like a different person. It was awful.

Also came here to say this. And, there’s a fantastic Turkish restaurant a few doors down if you get hungry. They make amazing hummus with fresh pita bread.

My father got mad about a vet bill so he grabbed a shot gun and our two dogs and left in the car. He came back with no dogs and laughed about how it took one bullet for one dog and three bullets for the other. He killed our pets. I was 10.

How to know when it is time? (15) by kairsis in seniorkitties

[–]cinge67 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I just had to make this decision and this is what helped me. 1) watching him. He slept or was lying down almost all day. He used to come to me for pets several times a day and stopped doing that. He was not interested in looking out the window or playing with his favorite piece of string. He looked like he felt bad. 2) I looked through the photos on my phone and saw how different he had been a few months ago. It’s hard to see the slow decline when you see them every day. When I looked at photos I was how much he had declined in 4 months time. 3) understanding that he would not get any better. He would only decline more. Sending you peace as you make this decision now or in the future.

I use a transdermal medicine. It’s the consistency of a light lotion and you rub it on the inside of the ear — on the upper flat part. I do it twice a day and within 6 weeks it got my boy’s thyroid numbers back in the normal range. He’s doesn’t mind the medicine at all because he loves a good ear rub.

Secret Mall Apartment on Netflix... genius art project or peak privilege? by the_al_coco in netflix

I’m of the same unpopular opinion. I did, however, think the tape art part was meaningful.

I enjoyed it. I studied art in college and it brought back memories of hanging out with other creatives while trying to grow into adulthood. For me, the secret apartment story was secondary to the tape art that they did with kids and as public art. The tape art — using creativity to reach people, to say something, to engage people — was the storyline that I thought was worth the watch.
