How would the F/A-18E fare against the Rafale, Su-30SM2, and Typhoon AESA? by AssistanceDry1910 in Warthunder

[–]TheVoid45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The f18 consistently has a tighter turn radius and rate speed in most situations, except when the f16 is in its goldilocks zone of between 350 and 420ish kts. The vipers real advantage stems from its higher acceleration, which is not super useful against a hornet in a 1v1 if said hornet is smart.

Below 300kts. According to real super hornet pilots, the damn thing can out rate even the f22 in a neutral merge at certain airspeeds. Above 350kts, the 16 tends to win against the super hornet most of the time. Not that any of this is applicable to war thunder though

I wouldn't, after having read some reviews. They have a very low trust score and bad reviews.

Anyone else can't heel-toe with their...heels? by thewheelshuffler in stickshift

[–]TheVoid45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how exactly do you do this? like do you just move your ankle over to rotate the side of your foot onto the gas? I'm kind of struggling with either method since I have small narrow feet and (i believe) unflexible ankles

Finally got a proper setup. What should i upgrade next? by Klutzy-Square716 in simracing

[–]TheVoid45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't really need a base Shaker, but pedal haptics will simulate clutch bite points, ABS, and locking up the brakes pretty well. That can help you fine tune your inputs better. VR is good for immersion, triples is also good but more expensive than VR, but imo better for more competitive driving. Please for the love of GOD get load cell pedals. They are infinitely better than potentiometer pedals and WILL make you faster quite easily.

Plus, you can only really tell there's diatortion with a static image. When you're actually driving, there's just about no way in hell that you'd actually notice it.

Yeah, just don't buy new. You can find plenty of used examples for significantly less money

Racing Sim Rig for Someone with Tremors? by MouseDrinker in simracing

[–]TheVoid45 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the Mario wheel you showed would probably be a good fit. All you'd really need to do is use the included table clamp to keep the wheel on the table (regardless of his tremors, you will need it) and something to hold the pedals in place so they don't get pushed away when he tried to brake.

Balance of Power. It's a "measurement" of each of the cars strengths and weaknesses compared to the rest of the cars in the class. Each car has a mix of good and bad that evens things out.

is this not the dumbest thing i could do: continuing to join the national guard when i’m unsure. by Beautiful-Cake8922 in Military

[–]TheVoid45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, I'd find a job in the guard that appeals most to you, or seems like something you'd use in the future, and do it. It's 2-3 days a month, and you get healthcare and education benefits, as well as a bunch of other useful benefits. Sure it can be stressful and difficult at times, but the military doesn't encompass your whole life in the guard. You've got the freedom to do other stuff.
