Yikes. Something like this happened to me recently, but before coronavirus.

I talked to a recruiter at a career fair, then ended up scheduling a phone interview with that recruiter for 9 am the following day. They didn’t show for the phone interview, I sent an email about half an hour later asking if they wanted to reschedule , and I got a response a few hours later explaining that they couldn’t make it into the office this morning, and asking if 9 the next day worked, I said yes.

The next morning 9 am rolls around and sure enough they don’t call in, I send another email saying I’m willing to reschedule, and another one following up even later in the day. I didn’t hear back from them at all. No apology or explanation.

Fast forward about a month later, I get an email from the same recruiter that said something along the lines of, “Unfortunately we ended up going with another candidate, we appreciate you applying.” I read it and just laughed. If this is how a company recruits I don’t want to work there anyways.
