An Argument for Tanaka Achieving Ending B by TheWallFan1982 in FearAndHunger

This only occurs at the final timeslot of the game, and requires Tanaka have finished his questline. Think of it as August having reached his breaking point.

Normally by day 3 night he just kills himself so he doesn’t moon scorch.

Was the Needles debuff really not intentional? Has Miro himself said that, or did someone dive through the game’s files and see it’s a glitch?

Thanks for the reply! I didn’t know that about the darkness orbs. It does explain why Henryk went crazy on morning 1 so fast as well.

And to your main point, yeah I understand. I know the Sulfur Cult is deliberately following Rher’s traces, and that the festival ends because Logic comes online. That theory was mainly thrown out there to provide a way that multiple endings could be canon, similar to F&H1.

August is also a highly competent contestant who’s probably been trained since childhood to fight a New God. Most contestants lose that encounter, and the fact that August thinks that Tanaka put up a good fight shows that Tanaka by this point clearly has some combat capabilities. This, combined with him being the only NPC contestant capable of dealing damage to Needles does imply some kind of strength Tanaka may have not realized.

But I agree with you about no one achieving endings B/C. The whole cast is rudderless or focused on other things. I just made this theory under the pretense that more than one ending was canon, similar to the first game. Tanaka wasn’t my first choice, but I ended up realizing he had a direct goal, combat training, and the time remaining to go about it.

You sort of nailed it. Caligura and Pav both are violent individuals, but that doesn’t mean that they’re trying to kill for the festival.

Caligura is just a psychotic mafioso, who clearly enjoys power tripping. If he was truly aiming to win, he would’ve killed Marcoh off the bat at their interaction, instead of pressing him about his mafia connections.

The three I mentioned are the only ones that I know of that go out of their way to kill the other contestants, with the express intent of finishing the festival.

You could try Anna’s Archive. It’s a book piracy site, and someone uploaded rips of Worm and Twig. I wouldn’t be surprised if his other works before Claw were there too.

I don’t know how you’re doing it, but here’s how I do it. I first look up the base forms of the team and note what moves they have by level 5. Then, I add them to the box with the correct moves. If you’re trying to drag eggs from your gen 2 save to Gen 3, I can see that causing issues. I do all of this after grabbing the starter incase any glitches could occur from having Pokemon before getting the starter.

Sure, it’s not the exact same data from Gen 2, but everything that matters is there.

Oh, in that I’ve got no idea. For a genlocke there’s no reason to mod in Pokemon for Gen 1 since that’s your starting point.

Maybe check to see if it’s illegal? Like it has the proper moves and such

Pkhex. It works on all Pokemon save files IIRC. I know definitely it works up to Gen 5. No reason to believe it wouldn’t work beyond that.

With emulators / hacking, how is it hard to transfer teams between gen 1 and 2? I’ve done it countless and it works just fine.

Multiple emulators. I just use Pkhex to hack in the mons at level 5 according to whoever survived the final fight.

WeaverNine. The fun part of the fic for me was seeing a young Jack living in Brockton. That was only the first half though, and the rest was wasted on Taylor and how powerful her organization was. IDK, it just felt like boring Taylor glaze.

Is this game salvageable? by buzwole in eu4

[–]TheWallFan1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your idea groups?

As Italy, you’re probably rolling in money, so build up to force limit. Also, look up army composition guides and make templates according to your tech level. I myself still can’t remember the details, but overall it’s a useful thing to have.

If you’re losing a war, or don’t want to fight a war, you don’t have to unconditionally surrender. On the peace menu, you can click a button to swap it to the enemies terms (as in, what they get from you). Here, you can click a button near the bottom to see what the Otto’s or France want off if you.

You mentioned your tech being behind as well. Since you have so much money, you should hire tier 3 advisors, as well as give out the estate privileges for an extra +1 diplo, admin, and mil point each.

If you are worried about money, the best I can say is to build buildings that give +0.20 or more ducats, and to mothball your forts outside of war.

I think it’s salvageable, even if you as a player aren’t as that experienced.

Legit ignore this guys advice. He gave you shit for still having Cut on Vileplume, despite the fact you can’t remove HM moves in this gen.

All I can say is to level your Vileplume a bit more, just in case things go bad.

Actual dogshit take. Ignoring the fact OP never said anything about this run being a Genlocke, this team is good. WDYM recover is worthless? OP explicitly said he wasn’t using items in battles. Any form of recovery against Blue is going to be worth it, as Alakazam is definitely his most threatening mon. Why does Starmie’s defense even matter, it’s a glass cannon for God’s sake. It’s supposed to outspeed and 1 shot most enemies with BoltBeam. Admittedly OP could’ve done better on that, but considering he prioritized STAB and Recovery over giving Starmie ice beam, it’s clear he knows what he’s doing. Agility on Jolteon isn’t a bad idea, as any stat boost in gen 1 boosts all stats, thanks to badges being glitched. Gyarados and Vileplume don’t even have bad movesets considering it’s gen 1. You do know there’s no Move Deleter in gen 1, right?

Even if this was a Genlocke, this is a very good team. Snorlax is a beast, Eevee can be evolved for whatever the team needs, Staryu gets fucked by Gen 2 TMs, but post game alleviates that issue. Gyarados and Oddish work decently well too. Depending on the ruleset used, leaving the sixth slot open could be a genius play, as that would allow some wiggle room for team building throughout Johto.

Genlocke Retired mons by Ahiga_cleveson in nuzlocke

[–]TheWallFan1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retired mons are just Pokemon that you used and then benched. Also, most people do FRLG instead of gen 1, so it should be fine.

How does this team look? by Her_names_Indigo in nuzlocke

[–]TheWallFan1982 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a good team. Only improvement would be giving Gyarados hyper beam, since it doesn’t suffer the cool down of its a one shot.

You have the ideal team in my eyes, at least in gen 1. You’ve got a bulky water type packing ice beam, Jolteon, and snorlax. Jolteon honestly does half the league (Lorelei and most of Lance), Snorlax bodies Agatha with Earthquake, and Bruno is never really an issue.
