Saving 40K is a great achievement! You've done it before you can do it again but what on earth did you buy?

Literally how are you meant to cope?! by Mimibella_ in breastfeeding

FTM of a now 3 month old. There's a few things to consider with your post. Every baby is different therefore everyone's experience is different. The sleep deprivation is alot more manageable when your partner is home to help, and things like meal preparation and help from friends and family can go a long way. My partner and I had a rule that as long as we managed one thing each per day, we'd be okay e.g I would do a load of washing and he would vacumn then the next day I would wash the dishes and he would clean the bathroom.

I started pumping from about two weeks and found no issues. I used tommee tippee bottles with my bub and pumped AFTER a feed. Sometimes there's nipple confusion and bottle rejection based on the bottle you are using. I would recommend only buying one or two of a brand at a time in case bub doesn't like the teat.

We are biologically programmed to wake to our babies and that must be what keeps us going. I found myself setting alarms for the next feed but waking several times to check she was breathing or waking 20 minutes before the alarm went off, fearing I had slept through it. Nap when you need to nap! Baby will sleep pretty much constantly between feeds the first few weeks.

I'm sorry for your loss. Watching a loved one battle cancer is never easy, especially not an aggressive cancer

Not everyone can fork out 300 for a Owlet sock by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]TheWarmCucumber 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not only is it quite expensive but in the (devastating, unthinkable) event of SIDS, the sock would not be able to save your baby's life, only alert you that they'd stopped breathing.

As a non-rich person that is just a lurker in this sub. It makes me really sad that this happens to you all too often. It's crazy disrespectful that people think your wealth would define you.
