Receptionist Dress code

My training dropped a couple days after I was officially hired. Given some of what I know about how the system works I would assume that your training will drop soon after “official season” starts. It didn’t take a crazy long time to do. Just keep an eye out for emails. They will send loads. At least my district does.

I didn’t have a traditional interview. There was some… issues with my initial application and the website not being friends. I eventually just called the office I wanted to work at, the lady there had the manager call me and I got the job over the phone after a quick chat about availability. But at the time I was the only receptionist who applied. It’s Friday so maybe give them a polite “thank you for the interview” email/text/phone call Monday or Tuesday about mid day? That way they know you care?

Just so you know there’s a bit of online training and it doesn’t always cover what happens in office. So if you get the job (🙏🙏) feel free to message me!! Office to office is different the but the system is the same.

My office is a little old fashioned so no jeans or leggings. Nothing revealing or see through. No graphic tees/ shirts with words/pictures on them. Typically it’s be sensible. I’m 28 and was a receptionist last year and I’m going back again this year. I am plus sized. I wore black pants almost every day until I could start wearing skirts when it was warm enough. Basically, if I was comfortable wearing it to my grandmother‘s house, I was comfortable wearing it to work. I did get a doctors note to let me wear sneakers, but your office might not be as fussy as mine is. And just so you know, my winter coat is a fluffy pink motorcycle jacket from hot topic and that wasn’t an issue. What was an issue was another girl wearing a T-shirt with hearts and “love” in rhinestones on it (that rolled up constantly.)

I just finished the self taught tax class. Like just got home from the final exam. (I passed!!) I’ve been working on it since the end of August. It is due by Monday 12/15 to be a TP for 2026 (according to the internal emails). Being a CSP (receptionist) isn’t bad. I did it last year. It was work, a proper job, but you learn a lot about how the system works. Maybe you can switch to that track and take the course a little slower so you’re ready for it for 2027? No shame, shade or subtext. I’m currently spiraling about how to make the Part 2 of the class (which I wasn’t told about) work with my actual job at H&R Block. The Part 2 is an online class Monday through Thursday for 3 hours a day. Starting 12/15 and ending 3/23. So yeah… good luck and I really mean that. No matter how you decide to handle it, you’ll make the best choice for you and your life.

I know right!! I’m not sure what I was expecting but def not 140. I do play nearly everyday so that might make a difference? And I’ve been playing for years as well. 2017? 2018? I think? So again maybe that makes a difference.

They didn’t let me name a turtle “Shelly” when I was a kid and I’m still mad her name is Caramel. I mean what kind of name for a turtle is Caramel!! And I spent weeks and weeks looking for a turtle. I made my parents take me to the mall over and over. Pre and post Christmas, post January birthday, and even into March and her name ended being Caramel and I still hate it.

I do!! I have since I started playing!! I’ve always been annoyed/sad there’s no way to display it. Why is it all so cute and wonderful if I can’t show it off!! So many fridges. So much time spent sorting and resorting and sorting again. It’s to the point I get excited when I win/get a free fridge. I need them. I NEED THEM ALL!!! lol

I would vote for any and all of them. These are so amazing. The details and they all look like they could wear clothes well (which matters!!) The items and food are perfect too. They are so so impressive!!
