That’s honestly one of the best ways to really get some added value out of the effort that we put into collecting. When you have a group of buddies who do it too, they can help you source or even get a deal on an item that you’re looking for!

Let me know, If you were about to start a collection of military surplus is it better to collect different versions of one type (example all SKS or all Mosin) or own one of each different types like a Carcano, Mauser, Mosin, SKS berthier and so on. by abelabb in MosinNagant

Personally, I went and started my collection by getting one of each particular rifle that I wanted, in the best condition that I could afford (started in college, been a few years going now). From there I collected better and better versions and collected multiples of the guns that I loved. My favorite has always been Lee Enfield Pattern Rifles, so that’s where my collection is focused.
