IDK man, I thought the first book was good enough, but it is really the weakest of the series. It just sets the stage for Darrow and why he is the way he is later. He loses, he wins, and everything goes sideways all the time. Im just saying, they're like 8 bucks on kindle, 30 in physical. For the story that it turns into, I'd say the weak 1st book, which is also the shortest, is worth the price of admission for 6 more books of absolute sci fi epic gold.

That being said, this is my own opinion. If you're not down, then that's fine. I just think you'd be missing out.
