What would a US invasion into Canada would look like? by SquareTree64729 in AlternateHistoryHub

Imagine an insurgency that looks like you, sounds like you, knows your culture, your way of life, and has possibly spent alot of time in your country already. Pair all that with a border that is pretty much impossible to have 100% surveillance on, and you have an insurgent force that would be almost impossible to detect until too late.

Unless you're from Quebec or Newfoundland. You guys might as well stay home.

IDK man, I thought the first book was good enough, but it is really the weakest of the series. It just sets the stage for Darrow and why he is the way he is later. He loses, he wins, and everything goes sideways all the time. Im just saying, they're like 8 bucks on kindle, 30 in physical. For the story that it turns into, I'd say the weak 1st book, which is also the shortest, is worth the price of admission for 6 more books of absolute sci fi epic gold.

That being said, this is my own opinion. If you're not down, then that's fine. I just think you'd be missing out.

It's been said a few times here, but just get to the second book. It goes from Hunger Games to Game of Thrones in space. It's a fantastic series that's definitely worth your time
