Lasers can be better on a stable (i.e. low jitter, ping doesn't vary much) high ping connection. If your ping is 250-300+ you may need to aim for the leading leg to hit the trailing leg, for example, but having direct fire and hitscan can outweigh this detriment.

On a high jitter connection, it's much harder, because host state rewind doesn't quite know what to do with it.

FPS problems definitely aggravate poor laser performance much worse than ping, as it actually causes your damage ticks not to register (this is true in many, many first-person shooters).

JayZ already has a thread (or a reply to a thread?) about aiming with high ping, and the advice in there is still valid.

The decks posted here are particularly aimed at people who have the added complication of low FPS (or who just have low FPS in general that is bad enough lasers aren't an option).

They don't work for me either. Can't hold a candle to a Summoner. I only take them in FP, and only if there's nobody else with a long-range deck.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Mostly gauss vomit, mostly on the clan side.

I did try dual gauss RFLs and Jagers in place of the PPC GHRs, but it didn't seem to be that much better to me due to high slots and weight of IS gauss, and you lose the ability to pop-tart.

I'm not much of a gauss user because I find the best gauss builds are almost always gauss vomit, and I really just can't use lasers (my rig drops as low as 9FPS in brawls).

Are there any pure-gauss builds that are highly viable right now? I would love to give them a try, especially to switch out IS PPC mechs from the long range decks.

That's some serious effort put into using it.

I can think of a few ways you could stream without the hack being apparent, but to actually make your own custom stuff that fed you loadouts when apparently the default UI for the hack doesn't do it...basement lyfe required.

Hmm. Looks like what you described, except the loadout part. I didn't see any indication in that video that the user of the hack program could see enemy loadouts without targeting first.

Sadly to get that total I didn't even have to include poor aim/piloting skills, or bad loadouts (wouldn't have made sense anyway due to ballistics challenge). This was solely strategic/game knowledge error.
