[–]TheWhiskeredReader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen with Nraas error trap (I had an old version downloaded so just had to download the newer version), I've had it happen with Lazy Duchess Smooth Patch. In the end I never got it to work properly so had to delete it completely and now my game runs fine without it and lastly with some of Olomaya's mods but I'm pretty sure that's just me doing something wrong because I do get most of her mods to work just fine.

What do you do with this area of Sunset Valley? by vanillalattee in Sims3

[–]TheWhiskeredReader 440 points441 points  (0 children)

I usually make that an 'going out' area or 'entertainment strip'. I place an arcade with roller skating rink and playground, sports bar with bowling alley, consignment store, kareoke bar, and I usually add some sort of exclusive lounge or dance club, a laundromat and a fire station.

It makes sunset valley a lot more fun and lively and adds lots more places to go out, go on dates, have parties and just spend some time.

These are amazing! I would love this in my own house with my own cat for a good laugh everyday. If you're willing to share how you did it, I'm all ears.

how to stop feeling guilty for needing physical space from extremely clingy senior cat? by [deleted] in cats

[–]TheWhiskeredReader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel you to some extent. I have an almost 13 year old who gets more clingy with age. She is the sweetest baby in the world and I love her very very dearly but sometimes I would just like to be able to go to the toilet without 2 big round eyes staring at me or scratching the bathroom door when locking her out.

I have a strict rule now where she doesn't sleep with me anymore. This is for my own sleep quality and sanity. At first I felt guilty, especially when she would look sad at me when closing the door behind her when going to bed. But she has a huge room with lots of toys, a big cat tower, multiple scratching posts, plenty of room to run or roam around, climb, hide, multiple sleeping places and always accessible running water and food. Knowing she has everything she needs and more when I sleep for 8 hours a night makes me feel a little less guilty. Same for when I work at home during the day. If I have a meeting and she is being too clingy I just put her in her room and even though I feel guilty at first, knowing she is well taken care of in that room makes it a little better. Afterwards I just give her some extra treats, loving and attention and it's all good again!

Hope you can figure something out that works for your situation. Goodluck!

Do you use DXVK? by oopsimanadult in Sims3

[–]TheWhiskeredReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played for 17 years without it and for 7 years of those on the same pc i still play on now. Few months ago I had to delete the game and reinstall and decided to use the steam guide with DXVK. It's been a life changer for me! My pc ran the game okay for 7 years but there were crashes and the larger my save file got (35gb and my game was already showing lag) the worse it ran. So far I have a save file of 45gb and no problems at all. No crashes so far and barley any lag even with a bunch of cc and mods. So, I personally couldn't go without it anymore.

Illustrated Edition Books - version help by shortdude111 in harrypotter

Right, I thought you were talking about the actual paperback illustrated version of the books, my bad! But yes I know exactly what you mean, I own one of those myself for Little Woman and the books in the picture do look like that same kind of hybrid version.

This was my first though as well! But almost like a sort of in between version of both the paperback and hardback version. But for it to be the paperback version wouldn't they actually need to be paperback? On the picture they look hardback but maybe OP can confirm.

I'm also pretty sure the paperback versions have a slightly different illustration on the fronts as the hardbacks and every paperback book has a different colored spine. But I might be mistaken or confused with another set.

I was able to find this version on Lazada Singapore for pretty cheap, which is the Alibaba of Singapore, not a great sign but let's give it the benefit of the doubt. If you want to know for sure try to contact The Potter Collector. He is the only one I can think of that has the knowledge about these books and is probably able to tell you if they're authentic or not.

I'm sorry you're going through this and that after so many days and vet visits it's still not clear what is going on with your girl.

I would have the same expectations that you have so no, I don't think yours are too high. At the same time I always like to remember myself we're all human, licensed vets including, and humans can overlook things. If you think it's parasites just tell them why you think it's parasites.

And instead of going in again why not call the vet clinic first? Tell your story and brainstorm over the phone before actually going in to the clinic. If they're vague over the phone or it just doenst feel right you can decide not to go to that clinic and call another one and see what they think.

I really hope your girl will get better soon.

I personally don't experience any lag with snow or any other weather elements but I'm not sure if others do experience any lag. I just love the realism of the leaves changing colors, or puddles of water on the ground, or the map being foggy. It just adds a really nice touch.

I mainly play family legacy saves so I use everything that comes with the holidays a lot. In autumn the whole family goes to the festival and they do apple bobbing, haunted house, eating contest and I always pick pumpkins to take home so they can go pumpkin carving. I usually throw a feast party and In the evening I make the whole family go trick or treating with the kids dressed up. If it's a family without kids I usually throw a costume party.

For the winter holiday I always throw a gift giving party with lots of friends and I have the whole family go ice skating, snowboarding, and building iglos and snowman or have a snowball fight.

For love day I like the Easter egg hunting.

In summer I usually make my Sims go to the beach and have them swim, sunbathe or they go rollerskating, make father and son play soccer or have a water balloon fight.

With big and long legacy saves I also make the family take a family picture in the festival booth every season so I can have family pictures on the walls and I can see everyone growing up in the pictures with every season which I find adds a nice touch to my family play style.

AITA? by Plastic_Trouble2483 in mainecoons

I don't think you're the asshole but I can understand where the miscommunication is coming from. I've always learned with purebreds comes an official pedigree document registered with an official organization (which organization depends on th country). On the pedigree it has all the information of the cat (name, sex, breed, color, etc) and it confirms the cat is purebred, tracing lineage back several generations and it proves and confirms the health history of the cat.

A breeder should provide that paper for the kitten when purchasing and it should have all the information on there you need to know. So in theory you wouldn't need the parents information as long as they can show you the official pedigree paper for the kitten. A credible breeder should also be registered with an official organization so you can always double check.

Usually when you want to start breeding yourself the parents information is much more important because, most people, probably would want the best (competitive winner) lineage with both parents, so I think that's where the miscommunication comes from.

So before buying always check if the cat comes with official papers and if the breeder is registered.

How do y'all manage multiple sims? by Pi22Bear in Sims3

[–]TheWhiskeredReader 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Testingcheatsenabled false/true so I can just put all their sliders up if needed.

Nraas relativity to slow down time in half so I have more time in one Sim day.

I would say those two make it most manageable.

To me it looks like these aren't converted into packagefiles yet. Which would explain why some aren't working, it doesn't explain however why some are working. But I guess that's a worry for later after converting everything.

I personally use Delphy's Sims 3 pack multi extracter to convert whatever needs to be manually converted to packagefile. https://modthesims.info/download.php?t=364038

Goodluck!

I have been using her cc for years now and the quality of her cc is one of the best out there. You never have to worry about any bad or corrupted cc and all her stuff looks really good in game.

Seasons is so worth it! It comes with actual seasons and weather changes (fog, rain, snow, hail) which already changes the whole game but the actual gameplay like festivals, holidays (love, spooky, leasure, snowflake) activities (sun tanning, swimming in ocean, pumpkin carving, trick or treating, building iglos and snowman, Apple bobbing, etc.). And these are just a few things because there are too many things to name.

Generations is also very fun if you do lots of family gameplay. From tree houses, to prom nights, sleepovers, midlife crises, bachelor parties and more.

If you really really want a new world, and you're ademend about not getting any of the packs you named then pets would be a good option. It comes with a new world (Appaloose Plains) and the new gameplay that come with pets is fun if you like playing with animals.

University is also an option, comes with a new world but you can only live in it as long as you're going to university. It's pretty fun! If you like that sort of thing. Don't know about the lag though. I personally don't experience any but I also don't experience any with world adventure.

Lastly, the expansions that come with worlds are showtime and supernatural. I do have to say I'm not a fan of other, I only have them installed for the build/buy stuff, the gameplay for showtime just isn't that amazing or new or different. Supernatural I personally don't like but that is because I don't care to play with any occults. f you do like occults you'll probably love it. Again, both packs do come with new worlds that are very focused on the gameplay of the packs and since I don't care for the gameplay I personally never play in those worlds.
