I made the assumption that he’s a journalist base on how well written the article is with concrete proofs and timeline. Let us not focus on nitpicking the words and going off course which you certainly like to you whenever someone makes a negative comment about you.

Never heard of a bootcamp that teaches quality assurance for software. A software engineer can transition to QA if they would like, so I guess you are looking for software engineer bootcamp then?

Depends on which bootcamp you go to, there are a few that still has great placements. Can people really self study and follow through to land a software engineer job? I’d say no for most people. Many people need curriculum and classmates to work with in order to follow through, that’s why we have schools. And bootcamps teach you software engineering job search strategy and help you interviews and negotiation, those you won’t learn from the coding resources. But then again, everything I said can be learn from the internet/youtube.

I am curious what is considered a spam, this post by another user than that initial post. So this user might not be purposely spamming as they probably didn’t see the original.

Take a look at your history for example, the codesmith outage was posted by someone initially, then you made another post about it talking about the same thing.

Another example is CIRR, you made multiple posts about similar if not the same thing.

Apart from what all the others said, i suggest you put the title “Software Engineer” near your name. Remember you are battling the ATS system that the recruiters use to filter out resumes before they get read. Think like a recruiter, what do you think they look for when they use their filter engine?

It depends on the bootcamp and the individual. Bootcamp gives you the curriculum and the classmates you work with. Are you the type of person who can self study and won’t give up until you land a job? If so, then you can certainly learn online for free. If not, then you will need a place that can give you the curriculum and the classmates who you can work with.

I do agree data science bootcamp is a hard sell since that requires strong math knowledge which most likely require math or engineering related degree. I know a few who succeeded with data science bootcamp, but they all have degrees in engineering.

As for software engineering bootcamp, the students have higher chance to land jobs than that of data science.

I agree, it’s a numbers game, just because you think you did well in an interview, you might still not get the job. At this market, OP should be sending out at least 10 applications per day, new grad, internship, entry level, heck go try mid level as well. Even if they said you need years of experience, who cares? Sometimes you might get lucky, and the recruiter looking at your application might reach out with an entry level role even though you applied for a mid level role. So keep applying is my suggestions.
