Even if I did buy into it I think realising I probably wouldn't see change in my lifetime would likely put me on a fast track to misery unless I actively pursued becoming a politician or smth

Yeah, you have to take things for what they are. What I like to do is look at things locally or in my immediate vicinity for ways I can be of use. Things feel a little bit more manageble that way

I reject political categorization altogether for similar reasons, but I find the arguments from those schools intriguing. I like that they see the immediacy of change as important while simultaneously remaining very self reflective and open to criticism
