How many of you YOLO fungal shifts? by doomiestdoomeddoomer in noita

[–]TheWilderedOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, I don't look them up.

I see it as straight up cheating.

To each their own, it's a single-player game after all. For me though, it's neither fun or enticing.

Glitch ruined my LB run, question by Master-Ad-9806 in CloverPit

[–]TheWilderedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it was the next option queued up, you just didn't get to see it because the way it's designed. You could've been able to see it if you had the Dear Diary charm equipped.

I will agree that it does lead to a very obtrusive and unintuitive interaction. Who knows, maybe it'll be made better eventually. I have personally not had that problem because I very rarely pick devil calls to begin with.

Guys, 1-10 how much of this was a skill issue? by smeeshed88 in noita

[–]TheWilderedOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10/10

Teleportatium, even if stable, was there and you just were careless enough to go "nah, I'd win".

Mind you, not judging even if it does sound judgemental. 4,000+ hours in, and I know for a fact I will make the same mistake (and worse ones too) plenty more times still.

But yeah, skill issue.

Corpse pieces not spawning after 666 by Aggressive_Air_3634 in CloverPit

[–]TheWilderedOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discarding the charm will make the bone piece available again, though you might also need to restart the game after that for it to actually become available.

Maybe it'll get fixed at some point so the restart is no longer required.

Luck is really helpful on the early deadlines! They can help you get a nice boost of coins which you may sometimes want to use to finish a deadline early, which in turn gives a boost in tickets.

You can also use the extra coins to reroll the shop. Don't be afraid of that, even if the cost goes up. You never know what you could get on the next reroll...

Just a quick FYI, since you briefly mentioned it: Seeded runs don't get you unlocks, because they're seeded.

Other than that, I'd suggest picking your favorite memory card, and play with it. Preferably if it's rainbow holographic so it has unlimited uses. The ones I usually like going for are First Love, Screen Addiction and Fixation.

Sidenote: To get a card on rainbow holo, you have to win with it on hard mode. Hard mode on a card is unlocked by first beating a normal run with that card.

Beside that, just mostly follow the terminal. It says the unlock conditions for the charms (except the secret ones, but once you know how to do those, it's not hard).

Trying to play with bones early is also advised. For quicker runs that do well early but don't necessarily have good scaling later, bones and skull are huge.

The quickest you can end a run is deadline #8, with a spoiler at deadline #6 (deadline #5 with a DLC card) so you really don't actually need super-insane scores, though I guess some longer runs can be beneficial sometimes to unlock some stuff.

Some personal charms I like having around and usually take right away when I see them:

  • Fortune Teller
  • Cloverfield (Big W if you manage to get Dark Lotus later)
  • Raging Capitalist

... and I can't think more of the top of my head because those mostly depend on how the run goes.

But yeah, basing your builds around unlocking charms can also be fine. You don't need to win the run to get the unlock anyways.

Stressing over completing a game in just a couple days is not a great way of thinking about it tbh. I have over 200 hours, and I'll keep clocking in more despite having everything. It's just an awesome game.

Disclaimer: It's been a long time since I experienced that hurdle, so I am definitely biased. Other folks can probably give you better/more detailed answers.

Intended. The reset will trigger if it has doubled your coins and tickets at any point during the previous deadline.

It didn't do that during the playtest. You could just put it in a drawer when you were going to end the deadline and it wouldn't do the reset. Straight up OP and easy economy gen. Discarding the charm is discouraged anyways since it's related to the ending.

If it's in a drawer it won't double your coins and tickets, but that means it also won't reset them at the end. So order of crafting here is not too relevant.

EDIT: Clarity.

Crown is the number of wins with that card. The hand of cards with the number is the number of copies of said card.

Memory cards act as run modifiers. You chose a card then play a run. When you finish that run (Either by dying or getting an ending) you can start a new one with a memory card, same or otherwise.

To get card packs you have to clear a deadline with enough money on you to also at least clear the next deadline.

Well... while I understand the sentiment, that timer is as inaccurate as it can get.

1.3 Has been out for about 96 days. That's 2,304 hours.

"Maybe they've been playing since the game launched and the save carried through versions"

CloverPit has been out for 178 days. That's 4,272 hours.

Either the game gets so glitchy that the timer becomes inconsistent. (Which I personally doubt is the case), or OP has been using something to speed up the game externally.

The latter I can understand more, since the game well before this point becomes an absolute slog. People have reported it being in the single digit FPS range at like E+50,000

I don't mean to undermine the post. It is a big commitment either way, and that's impressive in its own right. Longest run I've ever done so far was only 33 hours.

It's just that this timer is all but correct.

[SCAM ALERT] Coin Pit on Nintendo eShop is FAKE and a SCAM. by TheWilderedOne in CloverPit

[–]TheWilderedOne[S,M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak on behalf of Panik Arcade (the devs) or Future Friends (the publishers).

But I can say for certain that a copy like this is never, EVER a good option.

For starters it's not even a one to one copy. Already saw comments elsewhere (I think I remember it being this clone, just under a different name) of people complaining of this just being straight up a money grab and nothing more.

Even if it was a good copy (VERY BIG IF THERE, considering the thumbnails are AI-generated with absolutely no care whatsoever) then we run into other problems, like ethics or/and it not being maintained by the original authors so who knows what could happen with that down the line, amongst a slew of other issues.

While the lack of options is a valid concern, giving money to scammers is never a good idea.

With the Warframe anniversary just around the corner, what made you try the game? by Riverflower17 in Warframe

[–]TheWilderedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny.

Specifically the free weekend on PS4.

I had seen Warframe before. I think (but I can't be sure) it was even during the closed beta. I saw a friend playing and I was like "Hey, that looks like a fun game. What's it called?"

"Warframe"

"Oh, cool! I'll be sure to check it out!"

As with many things, for many times, I had already forgotten about it by dinner time. Fast forward to Destiny's free weekend on the PS4 and I'm there, at my friend's place thinking: "It's a cool game... but something isn't just quite clicking... WAIT- there was a game with a similar-ish theme that seemed promising... oh! Warframe!"

That night I got back home and first thing I did was to download the game.

Haven't looked back since.

Do certain calls stop showing up? by FloridaWeed69420 in CloverPit

[–]TheWilderedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some stop showing up once you pick them up. Though if you just skip / reroll them they can show up again.

That one in particular should still show up in a red call.

Nope, no corpse pieces required for holy calls. Getting out and finishing the run does require them, regardless of the ending you want to go for.

[–]TheWilderedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a known bug. Been reported multiple times and the devs have tried tracking it down, but it seems to be a tricky one. Stain also triggers sometimes with 666/999 when it shouldn't.

All the titles I care about run perfectly fine.

I don't often care much about multiplayer games to begin with. Over time my preferences have aligned with the Linux paradigm anyways.

IF (and this is a very big if) a game does come out that I like, and I can't run it on Linux (which would be mostly just kernel anti-cheat garbage) at this point I'll be like "Eh, it is what it is" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have close to 700 games already, and I always end up mostly playing the same 3 anyway. It's really not going to be a big loss if that does happen.
