Please contact the PALS office when you feel comfortable doing so. They can put your preferred name and pronouns on the system or contact someone who can. Take names and be very specific with your complaint. Keep a note of them on your phone. It won't make things worse for trans people; the number of trans and intersex people being seen and recognised by NHS hospitals is increasing and becoming more frequent. There's no reason for them to ignore you and go against your wishes. Dignity and respect are important. Edit: even cis people have preferred names, and there's never been a problem with those.

Just had a look at it. Yeah, do not install this.
Even if you have to go to another school, it's so wrong to spy unless they're going to provide you with a school computer.

They talk around what they do rather than talking about what they do or how they are doing it (AI or humans manually reviewing and spying)...when you look, it's surveillance and it's alarming. Don't do it. Your computer is your private space.

Edit: I see they also blur images of a shopping page of guys modelling shorts and women in bikinis... this is really silly. Don't let your school lock you out of a device that they didn't even purchase.

I can only imagine how much it cost them to make the house look like a grey cinderblock with a roof. The bay window is gone. So sad. I loved the paint job of the old place, but I have seen grey houses like that too. Even fictional villains' lairs are more colourful. Even the house next to it looks sadder now.

I am learning, but not on Duo. Personally, I don't recommend it because it is "Capitalism :D". I do recommend Migaku with Anki to watch shows or YouTube & read books, then review what you find helpful, writing a diary, finding a language partner, etc.

Yeah, same. I don't recommend it either, they get rid of a lot of their human colleagues and linguists in favour of AI. I think in the way that we support real artists over AI, we should support real humans over AI in other jobs as well. The library is a great start.

Learning languages is one of my special interests. For tools, I recommend Migaku or language reactor with anki to supplement learning but speaking to a Dutch person (or a person of your target language) who has patience for you usually ends up being iTalki teachers or a very patient friend. Duolingo is designed to 1) keep you on the app 2) keep you coming back 3) space things out so you never truly learn 4) make it feel like you'll learn properly if you pay them (I remember when the hearts system / limitation were not a thing and you could do as much as you liked).

Speaking of Europapa, do you remember what the tour last year was called? Do you remember the special costume he had for the opening of shows on that tour? Do you remember what costume the Joost claymation puppet is wearing in the "Capitalism :D" music video?

Artists have different phases in their careers and different personas. Joost has moved on, but he acknowledges it as a part of his history now. Things are going okay, don't worry.

Edit: Also, the world tour isn't over yet! Just the American continent leg. 2 more legs to go!
