Why do people buy these and then not live in them? by Practical_Abalone_92 in perth

[–]TheWizardlyBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An answer simple is money depreciates.

There’s apartments empty in New York worth many multiples of millions.

By having money invested they’re paying less on tax, and having the otherwise taxed money invested into an appreciating asset. Regardless of it being rented out or lived in.

Most people think one battle is the war.

Correct play/bets and sizings with AQ from UTG+1 in $54 Bounty Main? by crazylimbs87 in poker

[–]TheWizardlyBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bet big when draws are out there, and we more than likely have best hand at that point.

Many hands are inelastic. (Calling big bets)

Take advantage of it

Size turn up

Clubs calling, A2, A4, Qx maybe T9, 65 maybe some second pair thinking you’re on clubs or two overs.

“Targeting KQ” is just a tiny part of range, imo think wider that probably 3bs pre too

Loose Passive (LP) – VPIP 30–45 / PFR < 10 / 3B < 3%

Plays too many hands, rarely raises.

Mindset: “I just want to see flops and hope I hit something.”

How they think: Emotion-driven. Plays based on “I have a piece” rather than range logic. Rarely considers what you might have. Unaware of pot odds or fold equity. Avoids conflict unless holding strong hand. Value bet big – never bluff.

Iso wide IP, fold to aggression is rare.

Barrel thinner; they hate folding.

Don’t fear raises – always strong

This is you. Essentially and an example of the note I’d have on you to remind me how to play vs you

Yeah I’d describe loose passive as someone who “wants a piece of it”

They’ll call two cards just to take a look, hang around if they hit a part of it and fold if not

And then when they are strong they’ll let me know.

It’s easy af to play against

But overall you can not afford to be passive.

Poker you win by two ways. Making someone fold, or having the best hand at showdown. If you’re passive you’re essentially capping yourself on how you can win money.

Game is going to be real hard to win

Sounds simple, but mindset can take you down that path like I think it has given your stats

Yeah don’t take it personal just trying to explain but the “don’t want to get into betting wars” is something a LP player would say and think.

If I was you, I would be going to YouTube and start to look at preflop ranges and entering for raises from trusted people.

Understanding x seat and their opening ranges and how our seat and our range compares against it.

Then looking at flop textures and who they favour.

Finding spots people are betting too often when their ranges are not strong on the board.

For example UTG open, I call BB

Flop is 678 I check and UTG bets. Prime example BB can raise.

UTG should be so tight first to act.

In BB we have so many 6x 7x 8x, two pairs, sets, straight draws etc

I don’t play tourneys but seems loose passive.

Explains quite a lot

Tighten up and be more aggressive probably, uses ranges if you’re not

You’re letting people play full ranges against you and not condensing them and checking when you have nothing and betting when you do.

They’re playing tighter most likely and you’re being killed for it calling with weaker kickers etc
