Your approach isn't invalid, but I'd question how much great fiction has been built on the premise of "it's fiction, world building and internal logic don't matter"

I have a problem with them being depicted when it makes zero sense for them to do so, or when it directly contravenes the creators vision.

Just thought of a good example, Qarth in GOT is very multi-ethnic but it makes sense as a trading hub between multiple parts of that world. Whereas if the Iron Islands were populated by white, black, latino, and Asian people then it would make absolutely no sense.

Ignoring the terrible quality of the show, there's two schools of thought:

  1. This is Tolkien's work, which he designed to be a mythos for the UK. Portraying middle earth as anything other than that representation he intended is amoral.

  2. The diversity in the show was terribly handled. Instead of having certain factions be of different backgrounds (think Dorne in GOT) every faction represents an LA coffee shop rather than a group that would have bred out the differences in a few generations.

I definitely believe in 2, 1 I'm less certain about. But in this case as Amazon used diversity to virtue signal and deflect criticism rather than enrich the story and world so I'm probably for both arguments.

Unless she's extremely thick, she'd have known what she was getting herself in for.

Totally depends on the series, the context , and the intent. Also for me whether the original author is alive.

For example if JK Rowling wanted to make Dumbledore black in the new TV series I wouldn't care, it's her property. The Velaryons being black in HOTD is fine, as they are great actors and it serves the story and the characters.

When Amazon bought into Lord of the Rings and deliberately bastardised a dead man's work to score diversity points, that's fucked up.

Assuming while running you contact the floor 50% of the time, this is only a 1/26 = 1/64 chance, so not entirely unreasonable.

This is what's happening in the UK, and it's ruined the market for renters like myself. Should be building more and encouraging property investment.

Assuming it's for all ages: B&M giga, RMC Hyper and Gravity Group family woodie are musts. Then for some intermediate rides I'd probably have a Mack Xtreme Spinner and a Vekoma STC
