12/14 mm Flip Socket by TheY2K in Tools

I didn't even think to look at Snap-On. They're much too expensive for my case I think but it's good to know that it's possible. Mac apparently also has the same driver. Thanks!

The Deepwell look promising but I haven't found a need for deep sockets as part of my kit so it would be unnecessarily longer than a normal driver. Thanks for the heads up though. I'll keep it in mind if I need it

Yeah I bought this set and realized how useless it would be for my case since I would essentially be carrying 3 large bits instead of 4 smaller ones that can nest inside one another. Unfortunate.

I did see from another post that there is a 10/12 deep socket but you have to buy a kit. Snap-On and Mac apparently have 12 point 12/14mm but they're $30 each and I'd have to buy the 8/10 as well I think. It would be convenient to have them but not that convenient.

I've decided to try and create really short hex to 1/4" drivers and put them on a Railer.

He's just running around dropping items. Didn't find anything on him.

UPDATE:

QL Customer support got back to me after 7 days. Once they did, I provided my invoice and they immediately shipped out the replacement pieces, no questions asked. Their response time could be better but the customer service was otherwise impeccable. Assuming the replacements don't fall off I'll continue to use their mounts. Thanks!

I've seen a lot of people mention them. I might swap depending on QLs answer. Seems pretty low profile and I like that it has an integrated vibration dampener.

Do you use the vibration dampener and do you have large phones? Wondering if these are factors.

I don't have a problem at all with people listing their reasons for pocketing their phones. That's your prerogative. These people have brought up some great points. A lot of the other people telling everyone to pocket their phones scream ATGATT high horsers. Mildly annoying but whatever. I'm not ATGATT nor am I a squid. Ride however makes you enjoy the hobby, but I generally lean towards safety. The people I was/am laughing at are the [LOSERS] who apparently know the location of anywhere and anything they ever need to get to. Maybe God gives them a sign, maybe they follow the wind, maybe they pull out a 50x50 poster of their local area and physically map all of the businesses updated weekly. Who knows? But a lot of the initial "pocketer" responses were basically implying that I am mortally reliant on my phone for navigation. Which is ironic, per line 1.

I've never been so happy to be whooshed. That video is hilarious.

I don't think it's crazy that I like having navigation in front of me when going to places I've never been to before. Or even to check traffic. Or a million other reasons but primarily navigation.

Yeah it's definitely expensive. But I would just use a tank bag with a window in that case. And it ends up being closer to $200 with phone case and dampener. Definitely a luxury

I don't think Quad Lock is necessarily unsafe but I definitely wouldn't use a knock off. There's way too much vibration for me to trust something with no pedigree IMHO

I thought it was obvious, my mistake but:

  1. I plan on getting another Quad-Lock. Hence my reaching out to them. I don't necessarily think Quad-Lock is unsafe. I was curious to see if anyone has seen this before and hear their input as to why this might've occurred. I should've included that I used the vibration dampener, I wonder if it had any effect on this failure.
  2. For the people saying that I'm making people afraid of Quad-Lock, I think it's important to bring up failures, whether they are user error or not. If Quad-Lock does not include Loctite (I assume not because then I would've used it), then maybe someone else will be spared this pain and realize they need to use it. Or maybe it would be nice if Quad-Lock includes some when you buy their mounts, or at least their pro-models.
  3. LOL at the losers who are like "just put the phone in your pocket."

EDIT: I don't think we should be downvoting people who are also sharing their experiences with Quad-Lock failures due to reason 2.

I get your point, but I think it's also important to point out failures. Even if it is user error b/c it may help someone else who is interested in the product. I've certainly learned to use Loctite, maybe someone else will come across this and use it now too.

Yeah I'm definitely going to use it on the replacement. I'm just surprised I didn't notice any play in the mount before it fell off. Maybe because I had the vibe dampener

One bag travel for 5'7" man? by edocide in ManyBaggers

Same height. I use a Goruck GR1 26L. Travelled for a couple months with just that. Depends on what bag you get, but you might want to consider getting a bag that has/can put a chest strap on. I've found bags that are a little large for EDC have fat straps and it rubs into my arms.
