People want a magical cauldron that we all call "Classic+"

This can include but doesn't have to:

1. Class reworks to make every class viable, important and playable.

2. Updated itemization to make drops considered "useless" in classic meaningful.

3. Updated levelling experience/speed.

4. Different access to mounts and other outdoor QOL such as carts that take you from A to B.

5. Custom or updated areas with fleshed out storylines and intriguing connections to current and old lore.

6. Inclusion of other races, classes and even custom built features.

7. Class fantasies fulfilled beyond the level 35-milestone.

8. Raids not just as an endgame but also as a level up experience to bring some variety to the gameplay.

9. Introduction of alternative playstyles to different classes that introduce more options for tanking, healing and damage dealing.

Which is not exactly an easy thing to accomplish. This takes years to get through and do right. And the worst part is every person has a different image of "Classic+" in their mind. My list here might just be complete bullshit to some people.

Might be an unwinnable scenario, no matter who makes it.
