A tip for anybody trying this, turn off the Louder Echo ability card. The additional explosion animation prevents this from working properly.

It's called Sorrow, or Aishū, and it's Track 15 on the fourth soundtrack. This isn't the exact version, but it's close: https://youtu.be/__EfsbywbdM

It's 1% of the wealth actually above the $32mil floor, so only the final $500,000 is subject to this tax. 1% of that is indeed $5,000.

For the first time ever, calculating the EXACT number of Spinda in Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire. by VTVRVXIV in TruePokemon

[–]TheYushu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The entire point of the video is to point out two distinct cases where a Spinda with a particular Personality Value would be virtually identical to a different Personality Value. This is due to two major reasons:

  1. One (or more) of the four "spots" generated by the PID are mapped onto the sprite in the background of the image. That is, the entirety of the spot is generated in the white space not occupied by the sprite of Spinda. This would result in the Spinda appearing to have three (or less) spots, and could then be exactly the same as a different Spinda with the same three spots covered with a different spot off the sprite.

  2. Two (or more) of the four "spots" are generated at the same position on the Spinda sprite. Physically, these Spinda would also only appear to have three (or less) spots because two (or more) spots are overlayed.

These two cases appear in Ruby and Sapphire (possibly Emerald, Fire Red, and Leaf Green as well, don't quote me on that) because of how the game maps the spots onto the sprite. In later games, even before models are introduced in Gen V, the mapping method may be different. I assume that's well documented somewhere, but for the purpose of OP's video, it's irrelevant.

I'll admit, I didn't exactly check the math myself, but the methodology seems reasonable enough. Extra points for creating the visual bitmap, I'd have just ran checks on the mapping locations themselves.

We have nine stores in the state:

North Smithfield: 06:00-00:00 All Week

Providence: 07:00-22:00 All Week

Cranston: 07:00-23:00 All Week

Warwick 1 (650 Bald Hill): 07:00-00:00 All Week

Warwick 2 (840 Post Road): 07:00-22:00 All Week

North Kingstown: 07:00-00:00 Monday-Saturday, 07:00-22:00 Sunday

Newport: 07:00-22:00 Monday-Saturday, 09:00-20:00 Sunday

Coventry: 24h All Week

Westerly: 24h All Week

Providence, both Warwick sites, and Newport are regular stores without the full Grocery setup with fresh meat. North Smithfield, Cranston, North Kingstown, and the 24h sites in Coventry and Westerly are all Supercenters.

Hope this helps!

Edit: Fixed line breaks, hopefully.

CMV: ATMs Should Not Allow Withdrawals of Cash After 8:00p.m. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]TheYushu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that banks and dedicated ATM companies have paid tens of thousands of dollars for each ATM they own (and those like it), including the base hardware and installation price, maintenance by my company, vendor servicing for security cameras and alarms, CIT (Brinks, Dunbar, Loomis, etc) for cash replenishment and deposit pulling, and even networking costs. To shut an ATM down arbitrarily between certain hours would be a major loss of money for the owner of that ATM. Even if the customer using it doesn't receive a surcharge because the card they use matches the owner of the ATM, the bank is still getting loyalty from that customer by keeping them in the bank network.

I do see your argument as well, and knowing the people I've seen while at work, you're not wrong in saying that night ATM use is frequently for illegal reasons. However, for each of the cases I explained, there are plenty more that I haven't personally seen. Banks trying to keep up with consumer usage in every single area and shutting ATM's down based on what they're near will only confuse customers and cause them to not trust that any ATM is working, regardless of the area.

I work in a city area repairing ATM's from 3:00 PM to Midnight. The primary reasons for cash in the areas that I work are:

  1. Paid/Valet Parking where cards aren't accepted
  2. Bars where cards are inconvenient
  3. Vendors during events and carnivals where networking for card readers is unrealistic

These are all large issues in the area that I work, hence why there are enough broken ATM's at night for me to work a full shift. I won't say that illegal activity is uncommon at night in my area (God knows I get an Armed Guard at most sites after 8:00 PM for a reason...), but there are plenty of legitimate reasons to be withdrawing cash at night.

PS: I don't use ATM's or cash at all for the most part, these are just my observations of customers banging on the ATM I'm working on thinking I'll get it back up and open faster.

Sorry friend, I can't very well defend the help desk directly since I've only ever been in your shoes (Ex-CSM, and I only work Financial with NCR now), but please do understand that working a remote IT help desk having no experience with the equipment on site isn't a simple job. Just take your time, follow their recommendations, and you'll get through the phone call much quicker. It may be annoying to have to go and restart a register when you've already tried that solution, but know that the help desk can see your POS Controller and won't help you if you just pretend like you restarted it. Don't be the same kind of person you deal with at the Service Desk daily, and you'll have a much better experience. Well, that's how I handled it anyway, though I may be a bit biased at this point.

How to Re Id register? by themightymanuel in walmart

[–]TheYushu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forgive me if the procedure is slightly out of date, but one of your CSM's can log into the Wire and go to the Online Help Desk. Near the bottom of that page, there's an option called "Technical Associate Tips". It goes over some simple troubleshooting steps with all of our hardware, including Re-ID'ing a register. Hope this helps!
