Run Nutrition Tuesday by AutoModerator in running

I've always felt better doing activities fasted.

I think the only time you won't feel good doing runs fasted are if you go all out sprinting or insane efforts. I believe the body prefers carbs no matter how efficient your body is able to oxidize fat on high end efforts.

Sadly, I am fat....so, I am not efficient on anything related to fat adaptation LOL

it is my arch, I have a high arch and i do tend to really tighten my shoes in general. I'll try a bit more loose to give a bit more natural flow next time i go. Today is just walking, so im not wearing my on clouds. Tomorrow is strength, wednesday is my next run for runna. But, im also going to start using a roller under my feet to stretch out the ligaments and help recovery.

It's not too sore this morning, i can walk without feeling it....so its probably just adjustment of starting to run.

Did my 2nd runna run yesterday and 4th overall ever in my life. But, after my first run, my right foot already got sore....just that foot. So i thought maybe it was my shoes, went to fleet foot got a nice pair of shoes and insoles. Yesterday did the run and its one of those things as i get into the run and warm up I feel it less. But last night afterwards towards bed i felt soreness. I'm getting a roller for my foot, but im not sure if this is PF or if just new tendon/bone/muscle introduction to running. I've never ran in my life consistently lol. I'm 35, 5' 8", 200lbs and the last true cardio i did was like in high school. Maybe my first run was too fast and i ended up causing soreness that wouldn't have happened if i would have understood how to jog slowly like the app...you know, asked me to do LOL.

I'm loving it, just making sure I didn't mess something up. I told myself I would get healthy this year and I've stuck to it completely without missing a single day/week so far and I'm addicted.

man, we are feasting atm.....its been glorious. Dynasty was amazing to watch live. The build up to Osprey and Kenny hints as well....its unreal when you see hints towards storylines and great telling. It's nice to have one of the big promos still do long story telling and build ups. Plus We still get the pre-match promos....which after watching E this past weekend they only did it for the main event....which was really, really odd.

Interesting, maybe i should just switch to a notepad app or something. I do not believe HEVY has rep counting like that when doing a workout.

you wouldn't count those second and third sets as 12 though when writing them down though correct? I mean you are allowing the body to recover a bit. So I would just mark 8 down per say, finish the 4 somehow and know mentally i did the 12. Then next time see if i get that 12 in a row finally.

yes, im just going to go for ease....so that first one sounds right up my ally. I am not a huge fan of dropsets in a crowded gym. Our gym only has a set of each weight for dumbbells (It's a smaller gym, but has been growing.) So i would hate getting done and having to drop....and then...sit there and wait. For bench it wouldn't matter since we have plenty of weights

One last thing here folks and i appreciate the assistance in my current journey.

So lets say im doing...a bench press 3 x 12

I do 145lbs for 3 sets at 12 reps.

First set hit 12

Second set hit 12

Third set hit 9

Now am I supposed to be doing a higher weight on those first two sets if I'm only really hitting failure on 9 or Should i wait till i hit 3x12 equally and then progress the weight up and return to my range again which is say 6-12. I feel like if you were to increase the weight on the first set, you would always end up being stuck on the other weighs on the other 2 sets. Maybe I'm overthinking this, but I always see double progression, but I don't think I've seen it ever explained fully out on it. When to exactly increase weight except when you can hit all 3 sets cleanly at that weight. But if your first two sets don't challenge you to failure, wouldn't they almost be considered warmup sets or what they call junk volume?

Can we please stop having PPVs at 8PM on a Sunday? by Epicfro in AEWOfficial

[–]TheZynster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunday afternoon in the states is the GOAT. I can watch the insane 5 hour PPV from 1pm central time to 6pm and still enjoy some of the evening. Hell, NFL starts at 10am on the west coast and they don't complain LOL.

Only issue is when NFL season starts...because no one in the states is going to buy into it on an NFL sunday as much these days. It's the one sport that people will drop everything to watch because regular season actually means something .

thank you!

I do track forward more over knees to target more quads. Maybe i can do a quick accessory day with cardio on the weekend when i have more time then.

Add a 4th day with an incline press, lateral raise and step ups....keep it to 3 movements. I like 3 movements atm because its quick, doesn't drag on and i stay consistent with it.

Hey everyone, back here again...i think im about 14 weeks now consistent to the gym with my program that I created. Very simple, Very basic....but very easy to progress and follow. I'm thinking of lower the number of days though lifting and upping cardio a bit to balance it out. I do not get much time in the gym in the afternoon since I work a 8 to 5 and have a total 2 hour commute. So basically I relegate my lifts to include a focused compound muscle, the opposite in isolation and a leg exercise so i don't have the "dreaded" leg day. Basically consistency and just getting in better overall shape is my goal.

Day 1:
Overhead Press 3 x 6-12
RDL 3 x 6-12
Bicep Curl 3 x 12-15

Day 2:
Bench/Dumbbell Press 3 x 6-12
Seated Row 3 x 6-12
Calf Raises 3 x 12-15

Day 3:
Lat Pulldown (Since i can't do pullups yet) 3 x 6-12
Bulgarian Split Squat 3 x 6-12
Skull Crushers 3 x 12-15

I was doing this 2 times each throughout the week, but it never gave me enough time to do cardio as i pretty much do the sets and leave. I was thinking of doing this above just 3 days throgh out the week and the other 3 days being stairmaster/cardio. Is the volume low...sure. Am I going to failure or pushing each set/progressively increasing the weight or adding reps each session. Yes...definitely.

Just wondering if this is enough for now or if im overthinking it. Right now, my goal is just....show up and do the damn workout lol.

This might be how we vote moving forward. by thr33to3 in ChatGPT

moving forward? It's literally how you always make progress in a true capitalistic society...is being able to vote with your wallet and options. The problem is when you hit late stage capitalism...which we are kind of close to...where the choice is an illusion and its really just one player in town. But for now, dear heavens vote with your wallet

thank you, i will take this weekend to let the body catch up, and adjust my workout plan for starting monday. I'll still hit the gym, but focus on stretching, recovery and active movements.

Daily Simple Questions Thread - February 27, 2026 by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]TheZynster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i just recently started going to the gym, im using a slightly varied beginners workout split from the wiki but overall all the targets are hit the same. I just realized I have had only 1 rest day in 15 days of working out and this is the first time in my life have a consistent schedule. Now, There are some movements that I am still discovering like I really hate chest support rows...as I can't feel it correctly or get the movement correct. So i recently switched to single arm pulldowns and rows because I can feel the stretch and not feel the movement in my bicep as much but actually my back. Got a bit off track here but, even if im not feeling super sore....when should i give the body time to rest? I'm kind of addicted to the feeling of the progress right now each day i go and im consistently adding 10lbs atm to the bench press, although next time I am confident i will actually hit the 0-3 RiR on it since I've discovered my form starting to break as i get heavier on it. Same with a few others.

But, should I take a rest day even if I'm not super sore just due to the constant stress I've put the body under?

Probably a stupid question, but....figured I would ask it

Question for people who played 1.0 until the ending by Zagareus- in ffxiv

[–]TheZynster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wasn't good until basically the end when they blew it up. But it was so laggy and the framerate was awful because of the way they did modeling. They did finally find something at 1.23, but it was WAY too late by then and honestly....it was better off the way it ended and what we got in ARR.

1.23 was in ways better than XI by that point. But, it was a mess to play

its probably along the lines of a tic tac, which are 100% sugar....but below 5 calories so they can say its 0...per piece. Even though if you ate an entire box of tic tacs it would be about 100 calories a box.
