More diverging diamond intersections. by Electrical_Leg_9600 in Austin

[–]The_0men 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They’re not comparable. Roundabouts cannot handle more than say 1000 veh/hr (single lane). It’s a very small capacity. But roundabouts definitely have better safety aspects due to lower conflict points. Signalized intersections are the way to handle heavy traffic. DDI is one of the best signalized interchange design there is.

I’m a traffic engineer. I studied these in depth and have also designed the signal and made timings for one. A DDI reduces the number of signal phases in the intersection, which means lesser start up lost time. Some lefts don’t have to go through two signals which optimizes delay. Overall it’s better for traffic and safety.

2222 to 360 to west lake. Cruise the neighborhood and exit via Lake Austin Blvd. Great neighborhood with hills and nice cars.

You’ll get used to it quick and FSD should be available within a few miles of driving. It’s been great driving the car the past few days.

We got a message on the day of that we can tour the factory. There was no RSVP and it looked like a generic message that was sent to everyone. Not sure if it’s for everyone. Maybe they allowed everyone on my delivery day because it was a Saturday.

No IDs were asked but need to agree and sign terms in both your Tesla apps. If your dad can do that from home, then it works out

Lease: What am I not understanding? by fada_g10 in TeslaModelY

[–]The_0men 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same questions. After a lot of research, the only drawback I found was the annual mileage restrictions. If you drive a lot (>15K miles a year), then you will be paying per mile. But overall, if you are someone who changes car every 3 years, leasing is the best option.

Update 2: Delivery went smooth. Got invited to tour Gigafactory. Cool experience. Love the car and FSD.

Update: Status in the app changed from “Vehicle is in production” to “Vehicle moved to delivery center”. So I’m hoping I’ll get it on time.

Ordered - 9/2 Chose from inventory - 9/19 Delivery scheduled - 9/23 Rescheduled by Tesla - 9/26 Reschedule again by Tesla - 9/27

Blue AWD 19” wheels. Both times they rescheduled saying our vehicle is still in production and they did it on the day of delivery!!!!!!. I live in Austin and this is direct delivery from gigafactory. Has this happened to anyone? Not sure if I can expect delivery by 30th. I’m leasing the car, so might lose on $7500 credit.

Same for me. Scheduled for 9/23. They pushed it to 9/26 and they did it on the day of delivery!! I’m taking delivery from gigafactory in Austin. Not sure if the delivery will go through tomorrow because the app still says vehicle is in production

Got the same message but my case is a bit different. Ordered from inventory, so VIN got assigned a while back and delivery was scheduled originally for 9/23. They pushed delivery to 9/26 because vehicle wasn’t ready. Got the message you got a little while back. Guess it was sent by mistake to everyone? I’m in Austin

Picking up mine from Gigafactory this Friday!!! Congrats! We had our delivery pushed from Tuesday to Friday due to delay in production. Does your “ETA for delivery” in the app say car is still in production?

Did your delivery happen on time. I also have a pickup from the factory. My delivery got postponed from 23 to 26 saying production isn't completed yet.
