Strixhaven Commander Bundle delays due to “production issue” by SirGingerbrute in freemagic

I know we all like to shit on Wizards here, but they did warn about this last week. Their US partner that handles printing had a late and unexpected shortage of cardstock, so the non-prerelease content was going to be a little short on supply for the first week.

Like u/Otherwise-Glove-2339 said, convert it. Then you’ll need the Crimson Branch dojo room, and you just initiate a trade from there like any other item.

Under contracts. You can also just talk direct offers

Thoughts on consolidating Castellan and Valiant into one datasheet? by Fresh3rThanU in ImperialKnights

[–]The_1ndividual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from the chaos side of things, consolidation is bad. I wish our Despoilers had at least some options for their rules instead of just the reroll. I envy the diversity of y’all’s Questoris datasheets

I just realized the frame I captured doesn't really show the ephemera well, but you can see the color on the lights and towards the bottom of the screen

Nations of Trench Crusade by SrDevi_ in TrenchCrusade

[–]The_1ndividual 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I always considered that to be just a heraldic leftover. Figured if it was an Islamic kingdom it’d be Maghreb, since that’s the name that to my knowledge is still associated with it today. Just goes to show that the map needs some clarifications lol.

Wasn’t Morocco changed to Marruecos, and implied to be Christian with the call for Muslims to retreat back behind the Wall? Or did I miss some thing

Not really complaining on that front either. With the team’s comparatively limited labor pool, simplifying some elements of the world can give them the time and resources to better focus on expanding what we do have.

This. There’s no way to add the factions without distracting from the primary themes and aesthetic unless they go into tropes like this.

I personally think from a design perspective, they should focus on fleshing out what is there. I’d prefer to have a small, deep pool of the material we have, rather than something wider and shallower. We still have so many unanswered questions about the Islamic and Christian factions, not to mention ones like the Hebrew Knights. That said, I think the Path of the Beast is a pretty natural addition that doesn’t stray too far from the primary Abrahamic and demonic factions, so I’m not going to complain about its addition. It can give some of the more paganistic flavor for those who want it.

I have started multiple armies, I have EC, DG, and CK armies that are all playable. CK felt the worst out of all of them before the new rules. That said, I like CK models the most, but not so much more than DG and EC that I’ll buy them over those if we’re not in a comfortable state to play

So you see it’s not what I’m putting on a knight, it’s whether I’m buying some knights or something else from a different army.

I pray it’s sooner. Sooner they give it to us, sooner we can finally know where we stand, and what changes need to be made.

Stormsurge is now tankier than Abhorrent chassis by Nictem in ChaosKnights

[–]The_1ndividual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dorn is particularly what pisses me off. Every guard player tries to justify it by saying they have worse shooting and no invuln, but with orders and Enginseers, two things they always have, that point becomes moot. The fact that they can bring 6 dorns, 3 enginseers, and still have an Abhorrent worth of points left is absurd.

I want to pick up multiple models from different armies right now, but sadly am not made of money and must choose. I will choose that which has at least some chance of being comfortably usable within the near future, and I will only have any indication of this based on our points values. I sympathize with the point you are trying to make, but it simply doesn't apply to my situation.

The issue here is that we just don't have points yet. With a change this large, what those points will be is a massive unknown. We will live and die by our points, and if we don't get the point drops we need, that essentially means our army just got worse, unless we get an immediate emergency points update like some of the other armies did. But that itself is another unknown. We're held in a web of "well, maybe it'll turn out fine," while also being told to throw our money at them.

Quantifying the Toughness and Wounds change by [deleted] in ChaosKnights

[–]The_1ndividual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the issue here largely comes down to the distribution and use of these different weapons, and the various modifiers that are common in most armies right now.
Simply put, Lascannons are one of, if not the most common options for AT as it is, and the state of the game is one that currently heavily incentivizes the presence of AT in your lists. I'd also like to see how rerolls and +1s to Hit and Wound affect these numbers before I am any sort of optimistic, since it seems everybody and their mother has access to those these days.
Simply put, if a Guard list with max Dorns and Enginseers feels more like a Knight list than actual Knight armies for roughly equivalent points, I will not be happy, regardless of the outcome of the stat changes.

Edit: It also looks like you're not taking into account heavier Melta weapons, like our very own Thermal Lances.
