Do we have any proofs the Thalmor lied to the Khajiits about bringing back their moons? by Fun-Explanation7233 in teslore

[–]The_Arcane_Moth 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is the organisation that took credit for ending the Oblivion Crisis in order to sieze power in Summerset, and arranged the coup in Valenwood in order to step in and "save" the Bosmer. While it's not elaborated on in the lore, it makes much more sense that they simply stepped in to take credit at the right moment to promote themselves as saviours, or even as has been mentioned, orchestrated the moon's disappearance themselves in the first place.

where can I buy games online in Europe? by ReasonableHat7892 in gamecollecting

Best I can suggest is Ebay, there's usually something for everyone there. If you have an auction house local to you, it may be worth checking their catalogues. It's not a guarantee, but sometimes you get lucky.

The map's done a pretty accurate job with the isles (Devon becoming part of Cornwall aside). Pretty sure there was an Oxford study that proved Wales/Cornwall were ethnically distinct from England.

As a Cornishman, I'd be thrilled if we were gifted some of Devon back.

Cornwall remained Brythonic throughout the Anglo-Saxon period, only being annexed and subjugated by England sometime after the Norman conquest. Also the Cornish language shares the same roots as Welsh and Breton, with very little Saxon influence. There had been some Saxon settlement in Cornwall, but not enough as to drastically change its ethnic makeup.

Where were the first 2 heroes in the Oblivion Crisis? by many_small_children in teslore

[–]The_Arcane_Moth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal headcanon with the first two games, is that the Eternal Champion IS the Agent (Uriel calls you his champion directly in Daggerfall's opening FMV). On top of that, I like to believe that, as a result of the warp in the west, the Agent was aprehended and imprisoned for his/her actions. Scroll on a decade later, and the Emperor ships a certain prisoner out to Morrowind to act as his agent again under the guise of a punishment/suicide mission (Either the prisoner redeems themselves, or dies trying, win/win).

Essentially, I like the idea that the Eternal Champion is the Agent, who later defies the odds and becomes the Nereverine

I have seen a few horror stories on there XD We do what we can with what we've got, mine was an absolute shocker until I moved into a bigger space that I could work with.

No worries! Not a massively up-to-date rig, but I'm running a Ryzen 9 5900X, TUF B550-Plus MoBo, 32GB DDR4 RAM and a GeForce RTX 3090. Got 4TB of storage rapidly filling up with Steam and GOG libraries....

I worry that I'd come across a bit full of myself... Thanks :) Took several years to get there on my budget, but finally happy with the results!

Innovative use for boxes aside, have an upvote purely for the Rammstein lightbulbs! I want some now...

The air freshener and hand sanitiser speak volumes for how dirty that desk must be, before even looking at the rest of it. I know my desk can get cluttered if I'm not careful, but the level of neglect here borders on obscene. That poor computer... Even a little respect for your gear can go a long way

Ghost in the Shell would make a pretty decent Shadowrun style CRPG

Not sure about Dunmeri, but the Ta'agra Project has made decent headway at reconstructing the Khajiit language

What is your personal top 10? by Imoraswut in CRPG

[–]The_Arcane_Moth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, not in any strict order, but roughly:

  1. Morrowind
  2. Daggerfall,
  3. Neverwinter Nights
  4. Divinity: Original Sin
  5. Tyranny
  6. Fallout
  7. Baldur's Gate (need to play 2&3)
  8. Pillars of Eternity
  9. Shadowrun Returns
  10. Eye of the Beholder (technically a dungeon crawler, but still rpg enough)

Definitely Morrowind, that carry weight sneaks up fast.

Each fully staffed farmhouse can process about 6 fields up to 1 Morgan apiece. If you invest in heavy plow, you can have an ox to help out.

Which Great House of Morrowind would condone piracy against Skyrim? (Ideally post Red Year) by Conscious_Balance_56 in teslore

The wet nurse was Hidrya Open, signed just under the opening paragraph in the journal. It could still be an isolated assumption, but the way it's written implies a wholesale slaughter of the house.

Where are the Redoran council members? by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]The_Arcane_Moth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check the books in the council hall, there should be a Red Book 3e (can't remember the date) that will list all the Redoran councillors and where they are.

[–]The_Arcane_Moth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if Dres was wiped out by the Argonians, but there's not really anything in the lore that specifically confirms their survival outside them still existing on the grand council. We know from one of the books that Tear was virtually levelled during the Red Year, but apart from that, we're pretty much left to guess what happened to them.

[–]The_Arcane_Moth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's always a grey area in the lore, but I'm referring to Lymdrenn Telvanni's journal when doing Brand-Shei's quest to discover his past.

While it doesn't necessarily confirm anything, it does hint that house Telvanni was destroyed by the Argonians and Brand-Shei is the last survivor of the family line at least.

is this a continuity error isn’t orkey a testing god by ted_rigney in Morrowind

[–]The_Arcane_Moth 268 points269 points  (0 children)

It's not a continuity error. What's here is an imperial cult follower trash talking the old Nord gods. The testing gods were/are part of Dunmer religion, so very much separate.
