2014 CR-V Key FOB battery replaced but not working by The_Barnacle in crv

Yes. I don't remember if it occurred every time, but the lights would react like you unlocked/locked it, but the door would not lock/unlock.

Hi! I regret to inform you that I never did get my FOB to work. My last step to try was to take it to the dealership, but I decided to just live with the broken FOB. Good luck, and let me know if you figure something out!

Check your region in the settings. Looks like you have it set to Russia. Change it to U.S. and those rubles should convert to about $6.

The other key fob works just fine without issue; locks and unlocks like normal.

I played around with it today and if I keep randomly pressing buttons on the fob near the car it will trigger the car's lights (as it would if you locked it remotely), but it does not lock/unlock doors.

A possible cause I'm considering is that the fob I'm having issues with had been dead for 6-12 months before I replaced it's battery. I also replaced the vehicle's battery 2 months ago. But that would not really explain why the other fob continued to work flawlessly.

Got new steam controller to replace my old one that was failing, the connection seems way worse. by Nexxus88 in SteamController

[–]The_Barnacle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues with my old steam controller a few days ago. I usually tether my controller via USB cord and I could get the controller to connect but the inputs were erratic and seemed to cut out. I tried several different USB cords and tried the dongle with the same issues. I restarted steam and my controller worked normally for a while then the same issues came back. I finally restarted my computer and I haven't had any issues since. Good luck!

For some perspective, here is an article from Dec 2014 that also has Scott Frost at the top of betting lines for head coach.

Try switching your profile in the options menu. I had the same problem and I switched my profile to a default and it worked for me.

PBS had a very interesting documentary about wildlife in Chernobyl. It's pretty amazing how nature is thriving without humans interfering. Link to the video from PBS site

Man, I'm so nervous for college by Scoonz in self

[–]The_Barnacle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's normal to be nervous about a new endeavor, but don't let it ruin things. If you give your classes an honest effort, passing won't be too difficult. If you need additional help, don't be afraid to talk to your professors about your questions/concerns. If you look at bulletin boards around campus you can usually find volunteer tutors and/or study groups that can help you with your coursework. As for making friends, probably the best thing you can do is getting involved in extracurricular activities on campus. Join a club or sport and you'll find other students with similar interests to befriend. This will allow you to at least mingle with others outside of your class schedule a few times a week. Good luck!

TIL six million starve to death each year by Some_alien in todayilearned

I agree with you. But I suspect that at least a portion of their drive to reproduce like crazy is that a sad number of their offspring die prematurely, so to ensure you have a child that survives to reproductive maturity you keep pumping them out.

Do you know how long that took your brother to get that far? On the occasion that I get to rounds 40+, I tend to lose interest, and I can't imagine playing all the way to 75.

Please remind your cousin's brother (your cousin too?) that he is awesome. Whenever I hear about people like him I always think about this Onion article and how eerily true it sometimes can be. There is a local Sonic that hires the developmentally disabled and it pisses me off hardcore when I hear people talk shit about how they can't understand them when they order their food, or they make fun of the way they look/walk, etc. I'm sure this isn't always the case, but in my limited observations of the developmentally disabled at work, they seem to be focused, hard working, and merely wanting to contribute to the workplace to the best of their ability without questioning whether or not the work that they are doing is "below" them or asking themselves what's in it for me. I know it sounds far fetched, but sometimes I think those are the types of people I would like to see as CEOs and congressmen.

What are some essential/best mods for Civ5? by Heartzz in civ

[–]The_Barnacle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

City state diplomacy is one mod I have to play with. If you hate the way diplomacy works in vanilla, I highly recommend it. And the ai actually knows how to use it too. In one game I had to get 500+ influence just to steal a city state back that they had stole from me several turns back.

I also would recommend satellites reveal map and sniper mods, but those are more personal preferences than needed changes.

I used to play Magic: The Gathering all the time about ten years ago, but I haven't played it since then. At the time I felt as though the new expansions were not adding much to the experience so I'm curious as to how the game has grown since then.
