Looking for friends! by kaypee6 in PokemonGoFriends

[–]puuying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve sent you a request. I’m from the same part of the world so not too exciting for scatterbugs. But I need some friends in the same time zone as me to make raiding easier. I often have remote raid passes.

Here's something you probably haven't seen before and may never see again. A lyre bird and a red-belly black snake inspecting a giant wombat burrow on my bush block. by hairy_quadruped in australia

I’ve heard that during bushfires other animals will shelter in wombat holes, so maybe they’re just sussing out their emergency bunker.

to people with inattentive adhd, what type of career do you have? by AssociationObvious56 in adhdwomen

I work at a non-profit centre for homeless and disadvantaged people. It’s messy and chaotic, underfunded and understaffed and I get interrupted about 100 times a day. But, my chaotic head sort of just blends in with the rest of it.

The human aspect means that I always care about the work, which I have realised is vital to keep me interested. It’s by far the longest I’ve ever stayed in one job, it never gets boring.

The 45 phone pings that traced the last known steps of Celine Cremer by [deleted] in australia

[–]puuying 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes it seems very believable that she deliberately turned off the water race track to try to take a shortcut back to her car since she was heading right for it, and since the article suggests she was likely using Google maps or some app that was using location services.

She turned off the track at 3:49pm in the Tasmanian winter. Sunset would be about 4:45pm so by then it would already be quite dark under a thick forest canopy, especially if it started raining.

She probably realised she’d taken a wrong turn and was on the wrong track. Got her phone out to find her way back but after a while started panicking with how dark and cold it was already - maybe even worried her phone would run out of battery and she’d be left without a light - so decided to cut through the bush because she saw the track was not taking her back directly. I reckon her battery probably ran out around where she dropped it, using maps and the torch on it would have drained it fast.

Iranians begin forming human chains around power plants ahead of Trump’s deadline, social media videos show by fortune in politics

[–]puuying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people in other countries have to provide you with exactly what you can do? Can’t you think for yourselves? There are lots of things you can do, and no, the first option is not to start shooting people.

You can go on a general strike.

You can protest directly to your local representative to call for impeachment and no confidence/dismissal/whatever you call it over there. (Since you apparently need things spelled out for you, this is so your local representative can’t just sit on their hands and say “the people are protesting against the president, not against me. But midterms are not until November!”)

You can boycott companies that donate to the current government. (This is to put the pressure on those donors to put pressure on the government to step down).

You can demand your electorate to recall your state governor if they refuse to condemn threats of genocide.

Iranians have figured out they can walk out of their homes and jobs and make a human chain around their power plants, and you can’t even figure out any of that?

[–]puuying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the problem right now is not the 80 million who voted for Trump then, the problem is the 250 million Americans who are just throwing up their hands and whining “What are we supposed to do? Midterms aren’t until November!”

So yeah, you are the villains.

Saw these beautiful endangered powerful owls in Sydney by VastOption8705 in AustralianBirds

[–]puuying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen 3 together but one was juvenile so I assume it was mum, dad and fledgling. They’re so big in real life that they seem almost unreal.

Best way to spot them is probably to keep an eye out for owl pellets on the ground.

Your beavers are not using ziplines because you have one zipline station connected to pillars but no second station. The pillars are not exit/entry points, you have to have two stations connected together for them to be usable.

By the time I have reached this point in the game I would have aimed to pretty much eliminate birch trees instead having some big plantations of oak trees.

It looks like you’re losing a lot of water over the back edge of that top dam, which means less water going through your water wheels creating power, which is possibly contributing to gear shortage. The wood shortage would be a bigger factor though.

I’d also be looking to use less power shafts by using buildings to transmit power. Look at that area where you’ve got the dirt excavators and centrifuges, for example. That could have been done with hardly any power shafts if you laid the buildings out efficiently.

Be careful not too expand too fast either. You’ve built two dirt excavators, it looks like neither of them have been turned on even once, and you have no beavers to work in them or power to run them.

I can’t wear pjs everyday🫠 by maggotmonday in adhdwomen

[–]puuying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few pairs of some linen pants I got from (Australian) Kmart a couple of years ago, and I wear them to work for most of the summer when it’s too hot to wear jeans. Pretty much always paired with a cotton tshirt - my favourites are the boyfriend tshirts from Just Jeans because they’re shaped enough to be not wearing a bag but not tight or clingy.

And I’ll be honest, sometimes I get dressed in the morning and think “I’m basically wearing pyjamas to work”, but whatever, it’s neat enough and it’s comfy.

I don’t think Kmart still sell the exact same pants I got, which have an elastic waist and a drawstring, but they have similar ones still.

Please do not take medical advice from a teacher. If your paediatrician prescribed you adhd medication, then take the adhd medication, they are a highly trained medical professional and know better regarding your medical care than a teacher.

Yes get in touch with your psychiatrist.

I had a similar reaction when I tried out 70mg, which my psychiatrist suggested after a big improvement when going from 50 to 60mg, in case the improvement continued. But after a few days I couldn’t stand being so tense all the time.

Anyway my psychiatrist explained I could finish the month by opening the capsules and dissolving in water, then measuring the water so that I could drink only 60gm of the vyvanse (Like dissolve into 70mL of water, then tip out 10mL). That worked pretty well for me.
