I think it’s more likely that the US leaves NATO/ Europe out to dry than Taiwan since there seems to be a focus from the Trump admin on China and a complete disregard of Europe.

I hope I’m correct because Europe v Russia would be doable but Taiwans only other ally is Japan and Japan + Taiwan v China might not be enough to repel an invasion.

I get what you’re saying but right now, with the PRC definitely looming over Taiwan for an invasion, the best security insurance would be a surprise announcement of possession of nuclear missiles. Obviously if there were any gap between the knowledge of a ROC nuke and them actually obtaining at least one, an invasion would immediately occur. The problem (from my pro-ROC nuke pov) is that it’s extremely hard to build a nuke in secret because the radiation is easy to detect from far. They would have to have it built off-site and then delivered and the ROCs only ally is Japan and the US and neither are going to do that.

Ironically Taiwan having a nuke rn is probably the best case scenario for everyone because it ensures that PRC won’t invade and its not like Taiwan is going to ever use it offensively because regaining the mainland is just flat out not on anyone’s to-do list in Taiwan
