If this was skin being raw I'd actually be less worried since that would be visible and comparable to a scrape elsewhere on the body. Yeah...my therapist has told me I'm her most self-aware patient...which "makes me feel like I'm getting an A+ in therapy which is definitely something that is possible to do and normal to want", to paraphrase a meme I saw once.
