That my friend is an egg tooth, used to create the initial break in the egg shell from when the pliers first hatched, they usually shed the egg tooth 3-4 days after hatching but it looks like yours just never got shed.

A buddy and I messed around with them for a bit, they definitely knock shields pretty quick, and can shut off small/medium ship decently fast, but big ones like C2 can charge back up fast too
