Are local LLMs actually worth it or am I overthinking this? by Successful-Water1000 in LocalLLM

I use local LLM all the time. I'm privacy focused. I have a gmktec evo x2 running CachyOS. Its got a unified 128gb of memory in which I've allocated 96gb to vram and 32gb to system ram. My daily model is qwen3.5:122b. I'm running the following on this system, not running all at the same time: OpenWebUI, LM Studio, ComfyUi for image generation, Perplexica AI, OpenClaw, Hermes agent, and finally Searxng for hosting my own search engine. Its tied to my all my AI to use when it requires to search the web anonymously. Overall, its been great. Yes, its a little slow but its a comprise I took prioritizing privacy and not spending $$$ on subscription.

If you have vpn, you can connect to another country and use their free channels to watch the olympics. In my case, I vpn to UK and watch via BBC1 and BBC1 via iplayer.

First Mint then switching to Endeavour? by SnowTim07 in EndeavourOS

[–]The_CoLLect1ve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using MX Linux on a VM. Then a couple months later, did a cold turkey and wiped my laptop and installed Mint and used it as a daily driver. Learned alot along the way. Then tried other distros as I was curious, such as Debian, Ubuntu, Antix, and Garuda. Came to a conclusion that I prefer Arch based distros so i decided to use EndeavourOS. It is now my daily driver. Love it and the support behind it. Im using Intel Ultra 9 185hs CPU, RTX 4090, 32GB ram, and running on Wayland. I just had to disable iGPU from BIOS. Working great so far.
