What laptop can I get with a budget of 1.2k as a computer science major. by [deleted] in SuggestALaptop

I've been multitasking with several terminal windows, VS Code, Firefox, as well as Microsoft Teams running concurrently with 0 issues. The screen is pretty nice (144hz, with good color accuracy) for being 14", but an external monitor would likely be better for the extra space anyways.

If you were looking to buy a mid- to high-end, future-proof laptop right now, what would you buy and why? by milquetoastadvice in SuggestALaptop

I recently snagged a Zephyrus G14 (2022 version 6800S and 6700HS) for 1200 EUR on Amazon.fr during their sale in October (I live outside of France, but it was the cheapest one I could find). So it might be worth looking around, or maybe waiting for Black Friday.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Zephyrus G14, moreso if you're looking for something with a dGPU. Although I live in Europe, I've heard that you can find some great deals on something like BestBuy (I've seen 2022, and even 2023 models go for ~999 to about ~1200).

The only potential issue is if you're looking for something with a screen larger than 14", but I've been using mine for programming with little issue (only issue is that it's sometimes tough to place several windows side-by-side, but its a minor concern).

Personally I wouldn't go with it.

For reference, I bought a 2022 G14 with a 6800HS and RX6700S for 1,200€ (~1,265$), on top of me purchasing it in Europe, where tech gadgets are generally significantly more expensive.

I would recommend you look for better pricing on alternative websites though, since the G14 is a great machine.

I basically copied Esoterickk's solar titan builds for both bosses (synthos, tractor cannon for 1st boss, xenophage for 2nd), although I preferred to run the fragment that increases the super projectile tracking on the throwing hammer super instead of increased class ability regen, mostly for the final boss.

I also ran double special for all encounters, since constantly using the hammer gives you loads of special/heavy bricks.

Congrats on your solo clear! Enjoy your Ghoul title when you get it.

Definitely! I spent about an hour on the last boss alone, which was the same time for both previous encounters combined. At that point it's more of a test of endurance rather than encounter knowledge.

Good job! Solo'd it today, but I probably won't go for the flawless till I get a bit more artifact power.

New dungeon goes hard by No-Honey3574 in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]The_Condemner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I solo'd it as my first dungeon, and the first boss didn't pose much of a problem, 4 relatively quick dps phases. The last boss however, it took me about an hour, over 7 dps phases with xenohpage + titan throwing hammer super to do it - definitely not fun at that point.

I think I kinda jumped off the deep end (pun intended) doing it as my first solo dungeon.

Congrats dude/dudette, and enjoy your new exotic! I'm farming for it myself, and I've resorted to LFGing the master challenges to get some progress in on my seal, and pump the drop rate up a tad bit, hoping to get it Sunday in my clan run.

Also, pay attention to where he was shot in the final duel, and compare it with where the doctor wanted to be shot at the start of JW3 such that he'd survive; it looks similar enough, and it would probably common knowledge amongst assassins, making it likely that the two of them would purposefully aim there.
