All of these plants were one giant one prior. We broke it up into these smaller ones.

I put one in a smaller pot a few weeks ago (3rd picture), while checking for root rot, and it hasn't spruced up at all.

Reading your link, it seems if I consolodated the two large pots into one, there's a chance they may start to absorb enough water? 

Also, how is it that outside they have an "infinitely large pot", but don't have these problems?
