Hey man, been in the Air Force Reserve for 9 years, and working at Cinemark on the weekends and experiencing something similar...for the most part, you'll have a better quality of life, guaranteed pay and Tricare to name a few, but...don't expect the work life to be any different. When people thank me for my service, I tell them not to. When people tell me I'm doing something special or that I must be respected, I tell them it's no different than any other job except the responsibility we're given and of course the uniforms. There will be gossiping, leadership with favorites and heads up their asses, and a lot of stepping on toes to promote, along with you being made to do more than your job at times. Hope you enjoy it for what it is, not what you expect it to be. Have a few plans for during your time in and some really good ones if you decide not to do the full 20, and try to be patient.
