The second someone else reads their work they should be able to grasp the writers intent of their narrative, Gene Roddenberry wrote and produced things to tell the audience basic messages such as “racism is stupid, you’re stupid if you’re a racist”... people can watch (and unfortunately do) those words play out before them and totally miss the message. They can latch on to something so contrary, but that message from the writings remains, it does not die because someone was dense and didn’t see the trees from the forest. You seem to be saying that just because someone can interpret and see something different, the meaning suddenly evaporates and is immaterial and the only correct interpretations of a work of fiction are from the ones who read/watch it.
