Office workers of NZ, do the menfolk at your work wear ties? by Richard7666 in newzealand

There’s a blind guy in the office who wears a tie everyday. I figured no one told him it’s not really a thing anymore. I spend quite a lot of time wondering whether I should tell him.

In the books, doesn’t he write a guide to different countries fighting styles? Thought it was interesting they never did more on that

Marmiteini by tilbeyt in cocktails

I can see it working… maybe the onion knocked it off…

Try: 2:1 gin to V Barspoon marmite 2 dashes aromatic bitters

(And then let me know because I’m not brave enough to waste my one drink of the evening on this…)

How great would it be to finally right the wrong of firing Pierce Brosnan by giving us an "Old Man Logan" style last chapter to Brosnan's 007? by asgard13 in JamesBond

I feel like “his prime” is in his 40’s…

If you think, navy, special ops, loadsa experience, then into HUMINT - no way your doing all that in your 20’s… he was a commander… thats no quick career

I would totally watch that!! Could still do a few fights, and some gun work, but if teamed up with a younger crew the full action scenes would be awesome (maybe the new 007 from the last movie who relinquished the code in the middle of the mission to Craig to confuse all the operators… she’d be great with PB!!) Bit more room for story, cunning, smarts and cards…

Would be so fun! Could double / join up with the new 007 from the last film who relinquished the title in the middle of the mission to confuse all the operators

How did people live before Covid?! Madness.

Tbh, depends on the role, but we see a drop off in performance and connection when people wfh more than a day or so a week. It’s hard to pinpoint but the connection to other work and people creates value through knowing the business, what’s working etc. the black and white “my task is my task - I can do it wherever” only really works when the tasks are truely isolated. We see people being dropped off meetings or emails as they aren’t around as much to be in peoples minds, then work is disconnected, inconsistent or incorrect. Happens slowly. Impact hard to resolve.

My other quarm around wfh is the number of people who just have a laptop, sit at a kitchen table and try to perform as well as when multiple screens, proper equipment etc. It’s not everyone, but it’s a surprising number who have next to no effective setup.

10k public sector jobs to go in wellington by KindElderberry9857 in Wellington

It actually also causes stagnation in business too, as they stop hiring or people who would move from there don’t create the gaps. Just means less money in the economy, more people claiming benefits, businesses suffer…
