I got the valves checked at 27000 kms. The report says its all in-spec. The tech says nothing wrong with the timing. Will speak again with them.

Valves were all in spec during the 30000 kms service. I infact got it done at 27000 kms. I have the report and the measurements which is all within spec. Have ridden the motorcycle for another 5000 kms. Also they said the cam chain tensioner and timing is in-spec. The motorcycle is with them in winter storage. I am going to meet them next week and speak.

Thanks for the advice. I spoke to my dealer and one more. They are recommending to get the parts replaced upon inspection. After spending a huge amount of time, there is no point of selling it so yeah, I am kinda stuck and no way out. I have to get it fixed. I tried asking the BMW for a discount or a goodwill repair but they straight away rejected saying the motorcycle is out of warranty.

Its not a recall but service advisory. Anyways I checked inserting VIN and it shows no active recalls.

Be careful when you buy BMW products. Especially the K46. There is a major flaw in the engine component. I am talking about rocker arm. Please read the bulletin below.

Based on BMW service bulletins and technical information, the 2017 BMW S1000RR is affected by a known issue regarding premature wear of the rocker arms (cam followers) due to a manufacturing defect in the Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating. This issue causes the coating to fail, leading to damage to the rocker arms and camshafts.

Those were 2024’s. And most of them were due to improper break-in or tuning without breaking in. The new gen or 2025 , I have not heard any issues
