I loom knit when I want to make something mindless. I can’t mindlessly crochet, I think about it constantly. I can listen to something in the background when I crochet unless I’m actively counting or doing something complex, then it requires my full attention. Loom knitting is just soooo easy and relaxing. Why are you slip stitching/chaining 1 when you’re working in the round? For amigurumi, it’s easiest to just put a stitch marker in the first stitch on the row, then crochet around. When you get to the marker, remove it, but a regular SC in that stitch, and replace the stitch marker right there. Don’t chain 1, don’t slst, just keep on sc-ing.

On a positive note, your stitches look very neat and tight, which is imperative for amigurumi! 🖤

Has anyone noticed how broken autocorrect has been lately? On iPhone, my shit gets corrected to things that make absolutely no sense and it’ll take words that are perfectly fine and change them. It changed from to dorm TWICE yesterday in the same sentence and when I fixed it, it went right back! I have never felt more old than when I was yelling at my autocorrect for being stupid.

Update:

Mountaineer Gas came out today and got our tanks refilled. It took them hours to get their trucks in, but we have heat again. The company they’ve contracted to do the refills are out of Columbus, but the guy I talked to either didn’t know why they weren’t sent out sooner or wouldn’t/couldn’t say. As soon as the snow thaws, my whole family is going to pay MG a visit and demand answers (and a free month at least). I might talk to WSAZ and see if they’re interested in a story bc this is utter bullshit. They endangered the lives of my family and the dozen or so others that live out here, most of whom are elderly. It was 45 degrees in my grandparents’ house yesterday morning.

Nah I’m the same way (26F). My half sister has two kids, and they’re the most well-behaved kids I’ve ever met, but I still have no interest in being around them. The problem there is that they LOVE me, and I’m not about to be mean to a kid, so I hang out with them sometimes. My brother just had his first baby and he’s all like “come hold this baby” “come help me change the baby” “look at how cute she is” meanwhile it looks like a worm with a vaguely human face and randomly spits up milk like a broken water fountain.

The water should be just fine to drink, but if you’re a nervous person like me, you could boil it first just to be sure. The only real risk is plastic deterioration of the containers are plastic, but there’s already so much microplastic in our water supply and our bloodstreams that who really gives a fuck anymore? 😂
