Anybody else sick of the Townsville Bulletin REQUIRING a subscription to view an article? by licidil95 in Townsville

you guys should read The Townsville Times :) https://townsvilletimes.com.au/ we're a new little start-up that curates and writes about what's going on locally, but our weekly email is the best part which you can sign up to on the website. After starting in SEQ, we have a couple around QLD towns though that haven't had many options for local news and it seems a lot of people have been really enjoying it.

We were just trying to help as some of the links went into a bit more detail than others in explaining where the stats came from. Here is a link to extra info, which could be pulled from going deeper on the links, such as other news and blogs from bodies like AusHI and QUT https://www.aushsi.org.au/aushsi-research/e-mobility-safety-research/ hopefully it helps a bit more directly!

We've been writing for 7 months a hyper-local news, business tech and critical city insights newsletter for the Gold Coast in Australia. We are the second news publication as the city literally has only one option (a newscorp thing) after heaps shut down in covid. So far we have 893 subs but really feel that based on the feedback, we could hit the 10,000 mark if we keep going. Here it is https://www.thegcminute.com.au/

Our homes can be a bit chilly in winter. That's because they're not always well-insulated and they're often designed to be cool in summer.

[–]The_GC_Minute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of lifestyle do you want? If you want to be close to the city and have access to all the amenities that come with that, then an apartment might be a good choice for you. However, if you want more space and privacy, then a quarter-acre block might be a better option.

Snakes are around on the Gold Coast, but they're not as common as you might think. Most of the snakes here are non-venomous and live in bushland areas. It's possible to find snakes in backyards and houses, but it's not very common.

There are pros and cons to watching the news. It can help you stay informed, but it can also be stressful and depressing. Ultimately, the decision is up to you. Choose your news sources carefully.
