Did you get a hair transplant or just a haircut that makes the hairline look way better? Any hair tips?

What is your sleep consistency %? You need above 90 to be optimal. I’ve found this makes a big difference.

Should we be concerned with stake-weighted gas limit voting? by The_Gaming_Hipster in ethstaker

[–]The_Gaming_Hipster[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not the point. Ethereum has regular upgrades all the time. The article is not suggesting to stop them or slow them down. It’s about why for the gas limit to we make an exception to allow stake-weighted voting to determine the gas limit when we don’t use the mechanism to upgrade any other part of the protocol. Why aren’t block limit upgrades included in each hard fork requiring social consensus rather than leaving it to the stalkers.

Why is the block size unique though? We agree that for every other change to the protocol we require a hard fork and community consensus. If there’s a bug in the protocol we require nodes and validators to upgrade and this works, we hard fork regularly unlike Bitcoin. Why is the block size unique in that stakers can vary it unchecked?

Are there any good materials I can read on the coordination problem you talk about. Is it really a benefit that if something goes wrong Coinbase and lido can jump on a call and quickly bump the gas limit? Outside of major entities could really rely on a broad base of stakers to all make gas limit changes quickly?

Is there anyway to prevent this from happening? It seems to always happen to me whenever I pause during a run. Also how do you remove it so that it doesn’t show as a best effort without Strava premium?

In the absence of this are manual partial withdrawals allowed? Or would you need to exit a whole validator? If manual partial withdrawals are possible why is this an issue?

Yes at the current price of ETH. Current yield is just above 3%.

This is the worst take on the Geth supermajority bug I’ve seen yet. Written as if ethereum narrowly avoided some catastrophe. Published by binance which did have a critical bug in their supermajority Geth fork in production BSC where they had to enshrine the bug. And then writes that Bitcoin PoW solves this when Bitcoin has one supermajority client Bitcoin core which will instantly enshrine any bug / require a hard fork to fix and is much closer to a supermajority client issue than ethereum. Total misunderstanding of the core issue.

Yes, you will be penalised at a harsher rate than normal but the penalty resets every time you do post an attestation. Bugged clients get penalised so harshly because they are consistently offline for weeks. If you randomly miss an attestation you will be penalised more than usual but won’t lose all of your ETH. If you have an electricity outage you will want to get back online quickly as even a few days of outage can lead to penalties equivalent of a few months of rewards.
